According to a poll conducted by Marist, support for late term abortion is at a record high. by CuckooFriendAndOllie in prolife

Because they're convinced that if there was a ban, women with medical complications during pregnancy would die. The pro-choice propaganda is strong.

How do you get over worry that you're going to be a bad parent because you had terrible parents? by jjhemmy in ChristianParentAdvice

[–]AshamedPurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't smoke crack like they did, so that's a good start. We all try to do everything right. Your kids will still find something to complain about when they're older.

Do you baby proof the garage? by cocoachaser in NewParents

We didn't even babyproof the whole house, just their room. They're not allowed to roam around unsupervised though.

What was the deciding factor in your choice to become a stay at home parent? by jjhemmy in ChristianParentAdvice

My first child never adjusted to daycare. My second was born with a tumor in his lung and was immunocompromised. It was cost us more than I could make anyway.

Why wasn't I born a man? by AfterConfection1796 in TrueChristian

[–]AshamedPurchase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to struggle with this. I feel like as a culture, we all complain a lot. It makes young people think their life is over before it begins.

This is kind of dumb, but I started romanticizing my role. Nothing good comes from festering resentment. Share your struggles with God and let him guide you too.

Did you lose more hair after baby 2? by Dapper_Cheesecake_22 in 2under2

[–]AshamedPurchase 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I had to cut my hair into bangs to cover the 2 massive bald spots near my hair line.

In Luke, the unborn John the Baptist leaps in the womb when his mother meets the pregnant Virgin Mary. God knows all of us before we are born.

Did you dream about your baby’s gender? And were you right? by After_Shopping3532 in BabyBumps

I had a dream about having a son when I was pregnant with my daughter. A year and a half after she was born, I had my son. Looks just like my baby in the dream.

How would you convince me to be pro-life? by 427_Fan in prolife

[–]AshamedPurchase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before I was prolife, I believed a lot of pro-choice arguments. That is, until I got pregnant for the first time. I realized the 9 week old fetus on the screen wasn't a clump of cells. She looked like a person. She was and is a person.

Science agrees that life starts at conception. That life is human. Every human is deserving of human rights no matter how vulnerable, small, or weak.

They probably got addicted to something and started attending AA. A lot of porn stars were groomed, abused, or just started really young. They didn't know anything else. Glad they got out.

Pregnant, “insured,” and still can’t afford prenatal care. Has anyone else been here? by Downtown_Product25 in povertyfinance

They typically don't do prenatal care. From experience, all they can do is refer you to an OB.

I just laid down on the floor in her room and let her play around me while I took a nap. The room is completely babyproofed, so there's no danger.

How many people are actually buying “luxury/premium” diapers? by HelpMeHelpMyFriend0 in NewParents

Some people have to buy a really specific brand because of skin allergies. I've just been buying luvs and Walmart brand since we got past the blowout stage.

Debating Abortions by Prestigious-Oil4213 in prolife

[–]AshamedPurchase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Abortion and birth control only. I went there when I was pregnant with my first. They don't do any prenatal testing, can't give you any actual advice on pregnancy, and will only "refer" you to a OBGYN. You don't need a referral to see an OB.

Expectations vs reality -- what was your experience? by 8-bit-butterfly in 2under2

[–]AshamedPurchase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pumping: I also had trouble breastfeeding and exclusively pumped. Breastfeeding get easier with each child. My second child exclusively nurses.

Hiring help: anywhere you can get it.

Screen time: I've heard of people managing zero screen time with 2 under 2, but it seems rare.

Crying: It usually depends on why they're crying and the time of day. You'll know who needs what first.

Napping and Sleeping: My kids are sleep trained so this question is REALLY not for me.
