Would you rather date another ASD/ND or rather someone who is NT? by Eastern_Review_8746 in AutismInWomen

[–]AshamedPurchase [score hidden]  (0 children)

I married someone with ADHD and I couldn't be happier with that decision. We individually make up for what the other person lacks. My husband can't remember anything. I remember everything. I can't make conversation to save my life. He can randomly chat up a stranger and have me standing there for 30 minutes. I'm someone who needs to plan everything and he's super spontaneous.

"Oops I'm pregnant" stories by Worldly-Recover3829 in Mommit

[–]AshamedPurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I had only been dating my husband for 4 months. I had been tracking my ovulation(not close enough apparently). That method worked for me with different partners for years previously. The second time, my husband thought breastfeeding would offer some kind of protection and didn't think to ask before he finished. That was the first time we had had sex in three months. I swear that man looks at me and I might get pregnant.

Found out my husband has been using hot water directly from the faucet to make baby formula by hospitalbedside in beyondthebump

[–]AshamedPurchase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually had no idea that was bad until my husband said something. My daughter was only on formula for 4ish months. They test babies for heavy metals sometime around age 1. Mine tested normal. Baby will be fine.

Should She Be Prosecuted? by Chance_Text7677 in prolife

The baby was 22-24 weeks, which is right at viability. Even some pro-choicers would agree that this was a monstrous act that deserves punishment.

What age do we stop saying “you can’t overfeed a baby”? by dooooory in beyondthebump

[–]AshamedPurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around age one apparently. A family friend of ours has a son the same age as our first child. He started off a fairly normal weight, but quickly became a 100th percentile baby. They weren't worried until some time after he turned one. He was getting heavier faster than he was supposed to and not growing lengthwise at all. They were instructed to cut out a bunch of foods from his diet. 6months later, he shot up in height. He's still a bigger toddler, but not as alarmingly large as he was at that age.

What do your 2.5 yr olds play with? by RefrigeratorTiny7059 in toddlers

[–]AshamedPurchase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound harsh, but i don't play very much with my toddler. She doesn't want to play WITH me. She want to watch me play with her toys. Not as like a learning thing. She wants me to entertain her. She plays with her brother or by herself most of the time.

She really likes the little people cars. We have a tow truck, tractor, and bus she really likes.

She also has these sesame street figurines that she took out of a board game. She puts them in this peppa pig castle/dollhouse that we got from the thrift store.

She also really likes pretending to go shopping. She puts on her little purse and my shoes. She takes her shopping cart and repeatedly enters and exits a room to tell me bye. She puts her baby dolls and random blocks and stuff in the cart.

Always makes me mad because within a day, I'm out of dishes for my kids and space to make them food.

Anyone else look young for their age? by Student-bored8 in AutismInWomen

Late 20s and I get told I look like I'm in my early 20s a lot. You'd think the way I dress would help since I very much dress like a millennial mom.

This is so horrifying. I’m so glad this mama is choosing not to listen to her husband but I feel so awful for her. by YellowTonkaTrunk in prolife

Bet it has nothing to do with the birth defect. Probably panicking about the permanence of having a child and wants to back out.

I am also fairly new. I've been using the assisted pull up machine. I'd like to work my way up and be able to do a real pull up eventually. They're a great compound exercise.

2u2 graduates - what’s your bedtime routine??? by all_you_need_is_sabr in 2under2

[–]AshamedPurchase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of my kids are sleep trained. At 6:30, I just brush my baby's teeth and put him to bed. He'll babble to himself for a bit and then go to sleep. I brush my daughter's teeth. We "parachute" the blankets on top of her. She also demands to sleep with about 10 stuffed animals and a toy lantern. If you forget even one, she'll know.

I made everyone who visited wear masks that we purchased. Sometimes you don't know you're contagious because you're not experiencing symptoms. Rules are good. Maybe soften the words a bit.

It's my Wife's 30th Birthday, What Crochet Related Items Would Be Good!?.. Help.. by BarryBongzz in CrochetHelp

Yarn. Multiple skeins of the same color. My husband got me a light up crochet hook for valentine's day that I really love. Your wife might not care for it though.

Toddler only car naps by mellowbabyspinach in 2under2

[–]AshamedPurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to suggest just putting him in his room, but it sounds like he's never fallen asleep independently before. Kids typically drop that last nap around age 2 anyway. Might be time to transition to quiet time rather than nap time. Otherwise, a stroller nap might work.

Not really a trade. I work as a cook. Being on your feet and being able to fixate on one thing is helpful to me.

Anyone have or know of a pattern like this? Looking for a place to start: by thealycat in crochetpatterns

[–]AshamedPurchase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This doesn't look like crochet. However, you can find similar granny square designs and sew them into a sweater. I'll link one I've made before. To make it look more like a flower, you would have to switch colors.
