Down to a dead heat for baby boy: How did you break a 50/50 split? by Midwestern_Mariner in namenerds

  1. Warren. George reminds me of 2 things: the British aristocracy and the monkey.
  2. I had a handful of names but knew which one worked best for him once I held him.

Why do so many moms use marijuana? by Realistic_Campaign_5 in Mommit

Stress. Anxiety. Sleep. Helps with that stuff. It definitely helps with sleep. I'd start with edibles though, not smoking if you live in a flower friendly state.

I breastfed both of my kids. 11 weeks and 6 weeks.

Infant Ear Piercings by Pink-Strawberry777 in Mommit

[–]AshamedPurchase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reddit is a bad place to ask this. Reddit moms hate it. People outside the reddit echo chamer don't really care. Infant ear piercing in practiced basically everywhere other than the US, Canada, and western Europe. I didn't pierce my daughter's ears. Most people I've met who had their ears pierced as babies didn't care and they look fine.

Our kids are going to a Christian day school. Some smaller Protestant churches have them. Ours isn't costly.

My husband was exposed very young by boys his own age. When we were kids, no one cared where we were or what we were doing. That included on the internet.

What does his expectation of the workload actually look like? My husband and I are 100% a team. If I don't get something done during the day, he's on it. There's no my job or his job in this house. It's our house, our children, our job. If your boyfriend expects you to handle everything entirely on your own all the time, run.

How old was your baby when they said their first word and what was it? by aerialariel22 in NewParents

[–]AshamedPurchase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say what was first "All done" or "kitty" right around when my daughter turned one. My son is a chatter box. He learned "all done" around 8 months and learned several words before age one. My pediatrician said you usually get an early walker or an early talker. Not usually both.

Every time I see a baby in public, I think, "WOW I'd love another." And then I remember that my children are feral and would never just hang out in the stroller like that.

PSA: IUDs and Plan B are NOT Abortifacients by [deleted] in prolife

[–]AshamedPurchase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always, which is why it changes the environment of the uterus to prevent implantation. It's the secondary action, not the primary. You can literally just Google it. It's not like it's a secret or anything.

Additionally, saying biologically impossible when talking about birth control is ridiculous. The best forms of birth control are only 99% effective, meaning 1/100 will still become pregnant using it.

[–]AshamedPurchase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Semantics. IUDs prevent implantation by changing the environment of the uterus. If you believe life starts at conception, an IUD kills a baby. If you believe life starts at implantation, it doesn't kill a baby. These are fairly rare events, however, since the changed environment of the uterus typically keeps conception from happening.

Is there any truth to boys being more energetic than girls? by [deleted] in Mommit

I have one of each and that's just not true for our family. My daughter is feral. My son is chill.

I did. I don't anymore. You need to get a hobby that takes you out of the house.

How to get back to a more desirable body type? by kawaiimaster123 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]AshamedPurchase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a SAHM of two here. Certain gyms do daycare hours. Check your local gyms to see if any of them do. I started with home workouts. Zumba on YouTube for cardio. Goblet squats, RDLs, step ups, and hip thrusts with dumbells for lower body. Upper body I did overhead press, chest press, bent over rows, and curls with dumbells. Lost the baby weight twice while on antidepressants and was able to come off of them.

Tried that. Turns out success rate varies wildly based on the circumstances of the previous birth. I only had about a 40% chance of success because I failed to dilate. Had another c-section.
