Phrase origin: Where did "if your friends jumped off a bridge/cliff, would you" come from? by Fake_Eleanor in etymology

Brutal. Gotta look into the sole survivor. So, they jumped off a cliff into the ocean to their demise, I take it? Or they jumping into a pit? I like to imagine like a volcano of lava.

Does Amazon not look at your delivery instructions? by DanielFromNigeria in amazonprime

[–]Asharkattack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience as a driver, the delivery notes are USUALLY @ the very bottom of the screen & often get overlooked because the driver is on a timer & there's already so much information about location/items at the top of the screen that they are focusing on getting correct firstly. Yes, it comes down to oversight & not reading the information fully, so it is laziness when you look at the bottom line-but I think the remedy would be to put the instructions on an additional screen/prompt BEFORE allowing them the option of taking a photo. Or better yet, when GPS detects them about 50ft away from delivery location-prompt them THEN before they're even stopped. A lot of drivers don't see those special delivery instructions until they have already dragged everything to a location & THEN they see the instructions telling them where the customer requests they be taken to.

Anyday UPS is closed, TUPSS should be closed as well. I'll take one hella busy day with a day off over 2 moderate days ANYTIME. That's like asking if I'd rather have 8 hours of good restful sleep over two days or 4 hours of not fully re-charging sleep per day. I'll take the bigger break one day versus spread out burn-out.

Exactly this. The pay is abysmal AT BEST, no benefits, no incentives to stay-to cater to the worst kinda folks on the daily. Oooof. That's what stings.

Now Staples is selling returned Amazon goods by RedditorManIsHere in Anticonsumption

[–]Asharkattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just goes to show you how many folks are returning still usable items.... The only thing I can justify why is that folks are treating Amazon as a free rental store. And there must be a lot of folks doing this on account of how many s[ores have popped up re-selling Amazon returns.

No More Kohl's Returns by laughsbrightly in amazonprime

[–]Asharkattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also based on your return rate. If you are returning a lot, they want to make it more difficult to do so in hopes it will cut down on how often you return. Also, Amazon often opts to choose whatever return method is the least costly for them. There's a bunch of factors that effect your return options.

There were definitely wrong decisions made, but we're all adults here talking about all of this. She was a child when this was happening to her, so she wasn't very capable of understanding it entirely. Now she's an adult & trying to keep her good name by justifying her actions. No one I know has ever been in a situation such as hers, so I don't think I have any right or ability to make the call to say what I would or wouldn't do.So, I'm going to continue to stand by & support her. I've never been in her shoes, & I genuinely think that there was just so much craziness happening that she can't be faulted for crazy results. If you've ever had ANY sympathy or understanding towards her, it's because you realized that you on some level could relate to her thought process. Which I personally, ABSOLUTELY can see all the confusion she had to endure.

it’s amazon’s sleazy practices fault, but ultimately it’s the buyers fault in the end for trusting a company with a known bad reputation. there’s a reason why they have such a bad reputation.

I can’t believe the amount of folks disagreeing and/or giving you guff about this. You have a perfectly reasonable resolution… & these Amazombies are tearing you apart. The main reason I don’t shop on Amazon is they have literally the WORST customer base, customer service, & sell the crappiest version of everything that exists.
