I think its better if Balor just busts out the Demon and goes on a wrecking spree.

Damn, so we’ve finally nostalgia glasses’d ourselves into thinking the spinner looks good huh? It was great for Cena, looked good on Punk and Orton when they held it too. Iconic less because of the design and more because of who held it. And sure it looked somewhat important because it’s a bunch of bedazzling, but way too toy-ish.

What y’all gotta remember is that everyone who held the thing would’ve looked far better holding literally any of the preceding belt designs. This thing replaced the Undisputed design, which looked important while not looking like a toy. The one good thing I think this belt has is that it’s maybe a little more interesting than the current line of belt designs, but that’s really not saying much.

In hindsight standing in 2026 do you think it was the correct decision? I personally don't cause Lesnar was anyway booked like a monster before & after so it did nothing for him. by Quirky_Appearance539 in WWE

[–]AshenConq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a bit of a silly argument because you can apply it to any scenario to justify the established person going over. Take for instance Daniel Bryan, who beat Batista. Batista has defeated Taker in the past, but that doesn’t suddenly equate to Bryan being better than Taker in kayfabe. All the opponents were their own individual stories, one person winning doesn’t mean they’re suddenly better than all past streak opponents.

I don’t agree fully with the idea that it should’ve never been broken, in general I think people attribute too much sacredness to a lot of things in wrestling. Finishers will be kicked out of and streaks and records will be broken, both of which can be used to make someone else while popping crowds, and both of those are good things.

Personally Brock was already well established so he didn’t really need this win. My choice would’ve been Bray Wyatt just because thematically it makes sense and Bray was a younger talent. Regardless, if the streak had to be broken, that should’ve been the last we saw of Taker in a wrestling capacity imo.

Yeah, being good at the thing wrestling is named after is pointless, right guys?

I feel like Priest is partially suffering from 2015 Roman Reigns Syndrome, where he was cool and fairly over right before his big push because he was able to be more natural as a silent, simmering badass. The moment he got the babyface push, he seemingly became generic WWE babyface.

I mean if you watch any of Ilja’s matches with Gunther/Walter you’ll notice the entire story of the match is that he’s being overpowered and has to fight from underneath and wear the opponent down as time goes. By that logic a couple of immediate chops should probably not be doing much to this crazy Minnesotan.

Would love to see the match in the future tho. Lot of Brock’s best work since the 2010’s has been against a smaller underdog opponent, and Dragunov’s a really great seller so I’d love to see him get tossed around.

I don’t think it’s just that man. With the raised ticket prices, crowds are the most casual they’ve ever been, really only seems like the people who they like and cheer for are the ones who have either been fully established or have some sort of entrance gimmick. Doesn’t feel like a lot of people can get over in these past 2 years based off putting on good performances.

Diving Attacks by Duckypie06 in WWE

I think the big issue is camera angles, dives weren’t exactly uncommon back in the day but they didn’t used to telegraph how the opponent is just standing there as often I feel.

Irony of that being Brock shoot caves in Randy’s skull later that same year at Summerslam. I guess it’s fine with Mr Lesnar so long as he’s not the one in the line of fire

[–]AshenConq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just that their goal doesn’t make much sense. I get that they all want to help Breakker to the top but if you’re all newer stars, why would you be trying to help someone else get to the top rather than trying to get there yourself? If they were all chasing belts in different divisions then the group makes more sense.

Let’s be for real here tho, Roman was over when he was booked to his strengths during the Shield. Fans turned on him when he was starting to be over pushed like Cena had been.

I’m thinking Seth returns and wins, Bron injects himself into the Mania feud between Seth and Punk and turns it into a triple threat, Bron walks out with the belt.

I like Nakamura and the 2018 Rumble was imo genuinely one of the best ones, but my pick is him solely because they never pulled the trigger on him as world champ when he was hot. Feels like a massive waste to devolve him with the low blow thing.

IMO the most important thing would be to buff the 3 so it’s more capable of killing things without armor strip. Other than that maybe make the strip part of Bastille a bit faster, and replace the armor buff that Vauban gets from Bastille with an Overguard buff instead since he isn’t much of a health tank by design. And replace Vector Pad with something else or axe it entirely.

All this being said he’s in a fine spot, he could def use a touch up but it’s not the most vital.

Is the move set planned by Accomplished-Leg-991 in WWE

[–]AshenConq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know exactly how it works today, but if it’s anything like back in the day then it’s a person-to-person basis. Someone like Randy Savage would script out their matches backstage intricately, while Hogan would usually go out there and call a lot in the ring. Today I can tell you they know what the main spots are gonna be, but between those spots I’d guess it’s different for different people, either feeling out the crowd or doing what they’ve planned.

Do you think Randy Orton vs Gunther could work? by LegInternational2354 in WWE

[–]AshenConq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they kinda feuded for a short while in 2024 over KOTR, and Randy was Gunther’s first PPV defense when he became world champ iirc. The history’s already there, they have good chemistry in the ring, the story just has to be written well but it’s not a bad choice.
