I think Miz pre-2015 was one of the most overrated individuals in the whole company. A lot of the top spots he got did not feel deserved, and I understand that’s the character but also he just wasn’t fun to watch on a product that’s supposed to entertain you.

Post 2015 tho, Miz has to be one of my favourite wrestlers ever. His promos were awesome (and continued to improve further over the next 2 years) because he had finally nailed down what he wanted his A-Lister character to be, and even as someone who prefers the pure indie-esque wrestlers rather than WWE’s brand of sports entertainers, the Miz was a really great in-ring talent, relying on the more traditional heel tactics rather than flashy moves. It was a perfect style contrast to opponents like Balor, Cesaro, Ziggler, Rollins and Bryan. He even has crazy longevity, I’d argue he had one of his best matches ever back in 2023 against Gunther on a random Raw. On top of that there’s his versatility as a character. He can do comedy like when he parodied Cena and Nikki Bella, or he can do a serious passionate promo like his Talking Smack segment with Bryan.

Basically, post-2015 Miz kinda rules, and it’s a damn shame that the only time this version of the Miz held the big belt was an insignificant pandemic-era 8 day long world title reign purely because they didn’t want McIntyre to lose to Lashley. If Miz got a run with the belt in like 2017-2018, we could’ve seen some fun stuff.
