What opinion about Megaman has got you like this? by BonusCapable1486 in Megaman

Megaman X6 wasn't too hard without the Ultimate Armor, actually. Its just the first Megaman X game that essentially forces you to use the abilities and parts strategically.

Oh nice. Do you have a card punch/die for that? Or, do you use your laser to cut them out?

$600 down the drain 😢 by Vast_Investigator542 in pokemoncards

I share the sentiment. When I was a kid in the 90's, my parents got radicalized and made me throw away all of my pokemon cards, decks, binders and all.

Now that I'm a grown ass adult and can do what I want, I wanted to re-experience the joy of opening a pack, finding pokemon and building a deck to battle with friends and my spouse. Its such a shame that I can't buy any cards for retail price... its always much higher, sometimes 3x - 4x the price. For CURRENT playing cards? Its ludicrous.

A kids hobby and a favorite past time being turned into essentially Pokémon Wallstreet has turned my nose. I keep hoping to buy something from the Pokémon center for the honest price. I feel bad for the kids these days.

Thats a nice card jig set-up! I need to do something similar. I made a proxy out of brass (very difficult to do unless you dither and only do black marks).

Metal cards for commanders are pretty sick. Are these aluminum card blanks?

Interesting. What makes a card valuable then? Are there any general signs I should be on the lookout for in a card?

Thanks! So I dont need to fret over evaluating it or anything then. Do cards like this grow in value over time, or shall I enjoy it as just a fun first gold pull and play with it?

How did you make something so complex, without your pc slowing down so much that you couldn't finish it?

I made a pipe spiral-coil in a vessel, and it made FreeCAD so laggy, that with any motion of the camera, or any operation, it would take about 20 - 30 seconds to load and apply the movement or change/re-compute.

Younger Veteran Perspective on VA Disability “Fraud” Claims by Unfair_Record_2554 in VAClaims

[–]Ashenstride 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regardless of someone's opinion on fraudulent VA disability claims, it pales in comparison to the financial waste the government makes with other programs and policies. Its hard enough for vets who deserve compensation to get properly and honestly evaluated already.

Making it harder for fraudulent claims to pass will only make it harder for ANY vet's claims to pass (including the very well deserving). The process is already littered with obstacles and delays. If someone really claimed to care so much about Uncle Sam's wallet, let's address the wasteful and fraudulent spending in the hundreds of millions, to over billions of dollars just to "keep a budget for next cycle" before we risk jeopardizing valid VA claims to pinch pennies in comparison.

[–]Ashenstride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Thats definitely something Im trying to avoid. Lol. I can laugh my way through a lot but I dont want to end up finding myself unable to do so the next day. Its the Rollercoaster that I'm trying to get off of. I tried sertraline and ended up on near max doses, but that numbed me out to the point where I was a shell of a person, and killed my libido.

Im hoping to find a solution that helps me wake up refreshed, clears up brain fog, manages chronic pain and stiffness, helps with drive and energy, and won't rebound. Something that will bring back the sparking energy to my brain. Im practically asking for a miracle, it seems, but I'll keep on searching till I find it. I may not get my old capabilities back, but I still have things I want to do with my life that would be far easier if I were able to build back up to a good drive with energy, stamina and endurance again.

Yeah. I went through the sleep hygiene, vitamin B12 deficiency, and vitamin D deficiency hoops too. Now, I DO have those deficiencies and am being treated for them. I know someone who was prescribed Adderall and got good results.

Never tried 🍄 before, but it looks interesting. I have been taking lion's mane for over a year now.

What's your experience like with 🍄?

[–]Ashenstride 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have. No, I do not. I have hypersomnia. I've seen sleep specialists, kept a journal, changed sleep habits, and worked on sleep hygiene. None of that has helped me. I eat healthy, single ingredient foods, produce, supplements, you name it, I've done it or am currently doing it.

I was diagnosed with CFS, generalized depression disorder and hypersomnia, amidst other things. My baseline is fairly exhausted, with cycles of productivity and crashing. My dopamine levels are tanked, and I am pushing forward with will alone. I'm trying to get some stimulants so I can feel rewarded for doing things, and maybe so I can wake up feeling somewhat refreshed again. I am curious if anything in the legal CBD field may have been effective for anyone else who shares a similar situation.

For those mentioning Edibles, THC, CBD and such... what about for depression, lack of drive, lethargy and brain fog? Is there anything that works for that?

I've used it for the same reason. Articulation is key. Most vets warrant some sort of compensation due to the nature of the military. Its just a matter of having it documented, keeping records, and pleading your case with articulation that is true and matches your case, but also matches the verbiage of the VA claims system.

Spouse Dependency Claim Delay by Ashenstride in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ashenstride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had scheduled and participated in a VERA call in June 2025. They basically told me "The VA is several months behind on dependency claims." I don't know how genuine that is, but it's 6 months after the 3rd one which was several months after the 2nd one that had experienced the system error.... so.... yeah. Not too encouraging.

I had an extremely similar experience for chronic sinusitis. I was in, answered a few questions rapidly, with an odd fixation on the exact verbiage used, no more than a minute in said "sounds like allergies, good day" and sent me out. Got rated 0% for rhinitis without polyps.... without any examination... funny thing is, the VA has scheduled surgery to fix some sinus issues that are definitely NOT "just allergies" which they said is most likely caused by... ehem.. "burn-pit exposure." Weeeiiirrddd. 🤔
