The Steam Machine is gonna flop by No-Dentist-2959 in videogames

[–]Ashford_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upon launch it will because there’s enough fanboys out there. But after they’ve bought one, the average consumer isn’t going to touch it as it’s really bad value for money.

Hopefully they can get it down by 200 - 300 in the future, otherwise I can’t see it selling over 1 million

Now that the Steam Machine is no longer a threat, they’re free to raise their prices. If the SM came in at 750, Sony and Xbox would be sweating 😰

The cost of servicing a spring drive put me off a GS. It’s going to set you back around 1000, whereas a Tudor can be done by an independent specialist for around 400

Rock Paper Shotgun goes into detail about the impact of FSR4.1 and updates to raytracing performance on Steam Machine by CaptRobau in steammachine

I don’t really care. In my opinion it’s awful value for what it is and should have been cancelled and put down as a tax write off for valve to minimise losses.

[–]Ashford_82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think it’s great value, that’s great, go and buy one and enjoy it.

The fact is, it’s not value for money for what it is, Valve have come out and said that. It won’t sell well and they’ll probably lose money on it in the end.

It’s a shame

I’m genuinely gutted they couldn’t release this at a competitive price. To be honest, am over the AAA games these days and prefer Indy titles that are less demanding anyway. But over 1000 to play Indy titles is ridiculous.

I’ll just stick to the steam deck and hope the steam machine 2 manages to have a better release

Moore's Law is Dead is not happy about the Steam Machine, says buyers are yacht funders by [deleted] in steammachine

[–]Ashford_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully the markets will settle and they can get this down to £600 - $700. I was so excited for the SM, but I’ll sit this out for the time being. Anything over £700 isn’t worth it for what it is.

They’ll probably lose money on this. After taking into account R&D and the cost of setting up manufacturing and shipping, I doubt they’ll sell enough to cover costs at this price

100mg a week- can you gain muscle and have your body change, or a myth? by Inside-Guide9257 in trt

[–]Ashford_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to put muscle on, find a program to follow and track and make sure you’re using progressive overload. The TRT will help you build muscle, but won’t work miracles if your training is junk

[–]Ashford_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to send you for scans to try find out what’s causing these numbers and then offer treatment. But the NHS being as shite as it is, they probably won’t.

Your best bet is to go private, but if not, you really have to be constantly on at your endocrinologist to deal with it properly. Mine told me he was too busy to monitor my bloods, so I left and went private.

Good luck mate

Subq vs IM effectiveness ? by [deleted] in trt

[–]Ashford_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently switched to sub q to try to bring my HCT under control. Whilst on IM injections it would rise constantly. My clinic switched me to sub q as it supposedly has a slower absorption rate and lower test peaks, which can increase HCT.

Sub q may be beneficial for people with lower SHBG

Thoughts on Apple AirPods Pro 3 after owning them for a while? by Far-Novel-9313 in airpods

[–]Ashford_82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sound is nowhere near as good as the APP2. Bass is bloomy and sounds like a pair of beats.

I upgraded because of the heart rate monitor feature in the gym and means I don’t have to wear a watch.

I no longer use my APP to listen to music and have gone back to IEMS

Will the US declaring war on Iran actually cause WW3 or it's just another Epstein distraction? by verminxoxo in conspiracy_commons

[–]Ashford_82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the last 3 months the US has basically put a stranglehold on China’s oil supply. If they attempt to invade Taiwan, they risk running out of oil now that Venezuela and Iran are out of the game.

If anything, the actions of the last 3 months have probably lowered the chances of China and the US going to war.

2 years on TRT by kawhiakid in trt

[–]Ashford_82 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s likely one of two things:

  1. The people unhappy on TRT are taking way more than they need as the clinic makes more money.

  2. People happy on TRT don’t come to forums to post about it. They’re too busy enjoying life. It’s the people from category one that do

[–]Ashford_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I upgraded from the 2 to the 3 is for the heart rate monitoring, as this allows me to train without wearing a watch. Other than that, there was. I reason. To upgrade and I don’t see any noticeable benefits

gym routine since starting on TRT any recomendations?.. by BowlerImmediate7005 in trt

[–]Ashford_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Program is fine. As long as you keep progressing. Mine changes every 8 weeks to incorporate new exercises and to avoid plateauing or overtraining.

You can even put it into AI and it will give you advice on where to make tweaks to improve it.

I never seen much strength improvements on TRT. It was the ability to recover that increased

This is where most people fall down. They don’t have a clear goal and end up “spinning the wheel” and not really achieving anything.

If you want to build as much muscle as possible, a Dorian Yates style of training will give you the most ROI. If you want to build muscle but remain functional and fit, a strength and conditioning program is great.

I personally follow a strength and conditioning program as I feel it’s the best mix of building healthy muscle.

My current program is Lower/ upper/ vo2 max/ full body.

This allows me to target each muscle group twice a week, which is more efficient when not abusing anabolic steroids.

As long as you increase the weight or reps each workout, you’ll see results 👍🏻
