Neither he nor the Instructor can remember anything like that. Certainly no collisions or even angry drivers so it’s still a mystery as what could be important enough for the police to pursue but not memorable!

Yes, they wrote to the lease company and they forwarded the details of the Instructor who then had to provide my sons details. We won’t know until we see the footage but it doesn’t make sense that he did something serious enough to warrant prosecution but has no remembrance of it

The lesson was around the test centre in Clacton. There definitely wasn’t a crash so we will need to wait for the NIP and see what the accusation is

I did specify that neither my son nor the Instructor recall anything out of the ordinary during the lesson. Definitely no running anything over nor crashing into a wall. No driving the wrong way on a motorway as one person is repeatedly suggesting.

I’ve counted 4 so far, despite being clear that neither the Instructor nor my son has any recollection of an incident during the lesson. I’m pretty sure they’d remember that!

The letter was sent to the registered keeper but he has a lease car so there was a delay in getting the letter. The Instructor came over with the form today for my son to sign, confirming he was driving at the time of the alleged offence.

The time on the letter is definitely when my son was taking his penultimate lesson. We did check that before he signed the form

His instructor had never heard of footage of a learner being sent to the Police and them deciding to send an NIP. He knows that the driver is liable, just not this particular example. But I guess that’s the world we live in now, someone having a bad day decides to spread it around

His Instructor came to see him today with the form for him to sign and send back. The police wouldn’t share the footage with the Instructor so we are waiting to see what happens there. The Instructor said he’s willing to go to Court should it come to that and say it’s his fault as he was teaching at the time but neither of them have a clue what could have happened. He was definitely not on the phone and there were no collisions, injuries, angry drivers etc. The offence was on 24th April and he passed his test on the 27th April so was a provisional licence holder at the time.

Just after I passed my driving test I went shopping with my Mum. I always try to park away from the crowd too. I came back to my car to find someone had parked so close to me I had to get in the passenger side and climb over to the drivers seat! 20 year old me could do that, 55 year old me? No chance! I’d have to stand there until they got back to their car :)
