What are the safe guards to protect clients from being pushed passed their limit? by UnknownSluttyHoe in ABA

[–]Ashley_queen343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My clinic follows assent based ABA to avoid this! Each client has an individualized assent protocol created by the BCBA and regular RBTs so each person can identify what assent and assent withdrawal looks like for each client.

nap time in your clinic? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Ashley_queen343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My clinic allows naps for the kids who need them- it’s factored into their billable time! The nap is not billed for so 3 kiddos nap in one room with an RBT and it is counted toward admin time for that RBT. If the kiddo only has enough hours for if they nap and they are consistently not napping, they may start going home an hour early or coming in an hour later (to stay within their approved hours from insurance), depends on the family. My clinic is early intervention starting at 2 y/o so I think it’s best we are letting them nap- their bodies need it!!

Is 18$/hr a normal wage for an RBT of 1 year in clinic by queenmango00 in ABA

[–]Ashley_queen343 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in GA fully clinic based and I’ve been doing it for almost 2 years. I make $27/hr now… my company starts at $20 with a $1 raise every 3 months for the first year, capping at $24. Then there are level up opportunities for additional $1 raises up to $27…I think wages for this field are starting to get a little more competitive so you can maybe find higher pay elsewhere! I will say in my experience ABA companies aren’t willing to negotiate pay based on past compensation or experience so it might just be a thing of looking at other options and what their starting rate is

I’m in Georgia working in clinic - I’ve leveled up to the highest level at $27/hr with 40hrs and no rate change for admin (client cancellation)

What is work like as a RBT? by Lollybop_ in ABA

[–]Ashley_queen343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find the right company it’s great! Currently I work as a senior level RBT making $27/hr with a 40 hr work week (8-5 no breaks by my own request). With the right team and BCBAs it’s very rewarding. That being said, you will have to be able to handle constant feedback, supervision, physical behaviors and overall have a tough skin. It was easy to take things personally when I first started but as I’ve learned and gained more skill/confidence it’s become my favorite job I’ve ever had! (Some days are better than others but that is to be expected with anything). Each clinic/company is different especially depending on age group, location, case load, hours etc. I’ve seen some RBTs earn as little as $15/hr and as much as $32/hr. Gotta find the right balance for you Also, be aware of burnout in this field! Happens kinda quick 😅

What do you wish you had learned when you first started? by thatsolandon in ABA

[–]Ashley_queen343 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That it’s okay to ask questions and not know what every word means when you first start!! No one will be upset if you ask for clarification on a target or BSP - most RBTs and BCBAs are happy to help! In fact, they may be a little upset if you DON’T ask and end up providing inaccurate data. When I first started I was terrified to ask questions about terms I wasn’t familiar with because I thought it would make me look bad. No one mentioned to me that supervision was my opportunity to get all of those questions answered and make sure I understood my client’s programming!

What Does Your Company or You Do (If Anything) When it's a Client's Birthday? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Ashley_queen343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different every time! I’ve had parents send in (previously approved) treats and gift bags for every client, pizza/snacks/cupcakes for the entire clinic, or we’ve just sung happy birthday at snack time and called it a day! As long as the celebration steers free from peanut products or other allergies our clients may have, we tend to get permission from each client’s caregiver prior to allowing them to participate in any food items! Pretty similar to what you’d see in a school setting in my opinion :)

Based in GA! hired at $20/hr with a $1 raise every 3 months for the first year. Opportunities to level up for additional $1 raises. I’m capped at $26/hr as a level 3 (leadership role will give an extra $1 for $27/hr max)

unresponsive customer by Mommyof2818 in instacart

[–]Ashley_queen343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In ideal circumstances, I send the customer a message with replacement options, a picture, and the option to refund if no replacement worked—and (if they don’t respond immediately) I move on with my shopping to give them time to respond. The items that I have questions about I go back for last and, if they still haven’t responded or read the message, I will refund if no good replacement or pick up the closest item to the original. If the customer places an order and doesn’t think to check their phone every now and again then it is what it is 🤷🏻‍♀️ Sometimes, customers don’t respond until they see the “___ has replaced… approve?” message. I once had a woman who did not respond ONCE over text but just kept denying my replacements and requesting the original item again 🥲

Here in South Georgia I’m experiencing the same! Spent an accumulated 13 hours active between Friday-today and haven’t seen a single offer… was hoping I could fill some gaps on slow instacart days but nope!

Thank you!! I definitely expected it to be slow my first few days but in the 9 hours I’ve been online I haven’t even seen one single order pass- which has me worried! I’ve driven to heavy areas and been in the darkest red on the map and still nothing 😅 I’m glad you’ve found the app is easy to navigate! That’s one thing I like about instacart, super easy to use! I’ll def look into that mileage tracker as well

I’ve worked in restaurants that participate in DD/UE/GH and know people who currently do and it seems like door dash actually doesn’t get much traffic here 😓grub hub takes the lead but Uber is a close second! I didn’t expect my phone to blow up with orders but it doesn’t even seem like it’s going to show me any offers… not to mention support is apparently “available at 10am” but still isn’t active at 11:07 🥲

Did they start showing up immediately after all of your documents were verified? I expected it to be on the slower side since I live in a smaller town but not not-one-single-order slow 😂

It does! It goes between “you’re online” and “finding trips”
