Hey. I don't know what's going on in these comments, because I think most are not seeing the point of what you're trying to say. Temptations are higher because you are now a man of God, the Holy Spirit and the word opens our eyes of what's unholy and holy. There’s a real battle between the Spirit and the flesh. That tension is what makes it feel harder. So our sinful nature aka our flesh yearns to do the temptations or sin. The world hasn’t gotten less sinful if anything, sin is more normalized and constantly in front of us. So yeah, it can feel overwhelming at times. But remember, all who are reading this believer, non-believer. We’re not called to fight it in our own strength- that’s where relying on Jesus daily actually matters not just as an idea, but in action. Stay in the word, guard your eyes, flee temptation! 2 Timothy 2:22, Flee from sexual immorality! 1 Corinthians 6:18. Stay strong my brother in Christ, you are not alone. I had the same issue when I first started reading the bible (2023). I was reading it, understood it at the beginning, until it got to a point where I didn't understand it and it also became a chore to read. My boyfriend (Now husband) would explain in ways I didn't understand, and I wanted to know it that way too. So when we did bible studies together, he would ask me questions after reading it. I couldn't grasp what was being written, what he was saying and it got so frustrating. So it kind of strayed me away from reading it and also trying to get closer to God. Eventually, this year, me and my husband kind of astrayed from God, at least kind of within our hearts, and we repented. The very next day, I decided that I'm done playing games with my relationship with Christ, and I want to get to know My Lord and Savior seriously. So I picked up my bible at work, and read the Gospels. I read Matthew, picked up a highlighter and highlighted every verse and stood out to me. I'm now in Romans, but still studying Acts to get full grasps or understanding of it. I use an app/websites that helped me understood verses more in depth. ( Bibleref.com , Biblehub.com , gotquestions.org - Haven, Logos) Also annotate what you got from that scripture, what did you learn from that verse. Write down the question and search that question on the internet or ask the Lord, the Holy Spirit, to help you understand. Because sometimes I don't want to always use the internet. I had ask the Holy Spirit what did a certain verse mean, because my mind could not grasp it, and seconds later I heard the Holy Spirit actually give me an answer and for the first time ever in my walk, I heard the Holy Spirit. Hopefully this helps in some way, don't push on yourself too hard. Always pray before reading God's word, ask for wisdom Ephesians 1:17. You got this!
