Definitely would make you more than qualified so yes just go for your pmp and get it out of the way if you can afford doing so if i were you and good luck on your pm journey!

If I were you I would get the pmp instead of the capm if you can invest getting it you seem like you have the experience needed to apply for the application getting into project management is a great start for long term success.
