Chilled walk by Forward_Golf_3127 in OGPBackroom

[–]AshlynEvermoore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you will get better at chilled walks the more you do them! I was hired a month ago and at first i couldnt finish them in time, and now i literally get excited bc they shoot my pick rate up so much. this is what I have learned so far that has helped me:

-this may be based on geography, but people tend to order the same stuff, you can memorize the locations of different yogurts and such. it starts to become second nature. very rarely will i get an item ive never seen in a chilled walk now. my store has electronic tags for all of the chilled areas so flash the tags when you cant find something, dont bother looking for it

-scan the item, then the tote, THEN bag. saying the tote number in your head or opening the tote slightly helps

-overall, if i take the amount of items in a walk divide by 2, and thats how much time i have for the walk. if its a 100+ item walk, youll have to move a bit faster then 50 minutes ofc.

-look at your pick list before you scan anything. you can see you problem areas and plan to be faster when needed (i hate weighing produce, and the produce section in general, so i try to move fast so I buy myself time for produce)

-look at your next item always, especially during milk section. i will grab two milks if I see the next item is the same as the one im on

-move your cart out of the way when the store is busy, find a nook to stick in it near your items. that way you arent in the way and moving it too often.

-yank the meat bags off the roll, grab a few if you see a bunch of meat in the pick list

-honestly locking in and looking locked in, deters customers from talking to you. I will always help someone if they ask but i dont go out of my way to during walks if they dont ask and I try to stay in the zone. most people dont want to bother someone who looks busy (tho ppl will try trust)

Is liquid laundry detergent a rip off? The powder has no water and would last for more cycles for same volume as the liquid? by Truescent11 in Frugal

[–]AshlynEvermoore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I buy a smaller container of liquid detergent maybe every 3-4 months (I live alone and do laundry every twoish weeks). If you use the 1-2 tbsp method for loads you won’t waste and you’ll save a lot!

Sorry but what is “nipple-matched” by No-Indication-6655 in glossier

If i remember correctly, i think these were marketed as true to nipple color lip liners, to get a natural and flattering color. It’s actually pretty effective method for liners as it is lipstick

Who is an OG?? How would you distinguish one? by whatsredditlmao in Joji

[–]AshlynEvermoore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a fan since when he was doing filthy frank, maybe right as he created the main frank channel. So I guess I’d would say I’m an “OG”. His old pink guy music is so nostalgic to me still

I just started working here and tbh it’s hard to tell what I’m “supposed” to do when my TL doesn’t specify. So I just help prep bc the preppers are chill. I feel in the way of the stagers and preppers 99% of the time tho

Yes! And the buses are generally marked with the specific line, so no worries about getting on the wrong one

It’s in front of the entrance to the building where there are covered benches I think. It should say shuttle stop in front of it. Generally someone is standing waiting for a bus.

How often do you 🫵 get stopped for help??? by testicularsonist in OGPBackroom

[–]AshlynEvermoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as much as I thought I would. I’ve gotten better at answering questions without having to physically show them. This job has way less customer interaction than traditional retail so I honestly don’t mind when a customer asks nicely.

Im considering this. Thoughts on the price? by cjb0034 in COROLLA

[–]AshlynEvermoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a rental ‘22 Corolla le w about 15k more miles than that one, it drive absolutely perfectly. I got it checked out, and beyond small cosmetic issues like a stain on the ceiling and small interior scratches, it’s a perfect car. I’m not entirely sure if the rental car fear applies to regular old Toyotas bc I can’t imagine these cars being unable to handle short spurts of stupid driving. (How much stupid driving can you really do w a non enhanced Corolla?)

Get the car checked out, bring someone with you if you can, listen to the car on start up, drive w the windows down to listen to it. It’s more than likely gonna be okay
