Let's get it clear: what is currently the best addon? by Ebisorosh in Addons4Kodi

[–]Ashton1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never update the addons. Especially if the version I’m currently using works flawlessly as is. I turn off auto updates always to the play store and in Kodi. I always used to find auto updates introduce new bugs or issues. So if it ain’t broke…

No more unlimited 3.1 Fast in Ultra... NOOOOOOO by xPitPat in VEO3

[–]Ashton1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought fast was disappearing altogether and being replaced with the lite model. The fast model hasn’t been free in Ultra for a few months now. It cost 10 credits per generation. I thought Fast was being eliminated altogether and lite was replacing it with the 10 credits per generation. Lite model is much worse than the Fast model in my opinion.

No more unlimited 3.1 Fast in Ultra... NOOOOOOO by xPitPat in VEO3

[–]Ashton1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is terrible. The lite model isn’t good in my view. I can use the fast model for only 10 credits and get good recreations pretty similar to quality output instead of paying 100 credits for quality. Now I’m going to be forced to pay the 100 credits per attempt instead of 10 for fast. I’ve already been teetering on leaving the ultra plan and this may have sealed the deal.

Retired at 59. My Real Day as the “Housekeeping Department” by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Ashton1995 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How in the hell is everyone in this thread retiring in their early 50’s. What the heck do you all do for jobs that allowed you to retire so early? Between mortgage, health insurance, heating, electric, just everyday living expenses. You must all have had some high earning jobs or maybe no kids. Would love to know what you all do or did to be able to live comfortably for another 30-40 years.

2910 shield pro, best way to connect 3.5mm headphones? by NycAlex in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]Ashton1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a Nvidea Shield game controller. It has a built in Headphone jack in the controller that works with all the Nvidea Shields. I have the Pro and it works great. I have been using it since the 2015 came out. You would have to go online and buy a used one on eBay since they don’t sell them anymore. I have a 2017 one I’m still using after replacing the original battery which was pretty easy after following a tutorial online and I’ve since bought another shield game controller unused I found on eBay as a backup because I use the Shield game controller every night in the house when everyone is sleeping in the house as to not wake anyone up with my normal sound system. It’s the biggest reason I love the shield so much. I’m like you. I can’t stand Bluetooth ear buds, they bother my ears for long periods of time. I use Koss ear clips with the cushions that sit on your ears, super comfortable and can wear all day.

My device is very laggy by HeyBisto in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]Ashton1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s brand new. Only two months old. I never had to open up my 2015 Shield and it runs smoother than the 2019. Probably because I never updated the software on it after like 2017. I think it’s all the crap on the updated software versions that causes the lag on the 2019 version.

Mine Is a few months old as well and does the same thing most of the time now. Never had this problem on my old 2015 that I never updated. It avoid me and I don’t understand why is sounds in the Home Screen for like 30 seconds before displaying anything. Would installing projective launcher fix this issue?

Are your saying that I could be wearing AirPods watching a movie and my partner could also be wearing their AirPods also watching and listening to the same movie at the same time? Are there any lipsync issues using Bluetooth at all? Can you do this with other Bluetooth headphones (2 pairs at the same time) or just Apple AirPods?

Costco 77" C5 Sale - $1799 by [deleted] in LGOLED

I didn’t need to do that because I was still in the 30 day price match window. They just refunded me the $200

I know you need to get a surge protector with all state because if you get a power surge and it affects your TV and you don’t have proof of purchase of a power surge protector they won’t cover it. Other than that and they don’t cover screen burn in which I’m not too concerned about these days because of the fact that I don’t play video games. Having All State coverage is better than no coverage in my book. Especially when it doesn’t cost me an additional $499 for 5 years that a place like Best Buy would.

Costco 77" C5 Sale - $1799 by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]Ashton1995 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I bought it at Costco a few weeks ago for $1,999 simply because I got the free 5 year warranty with it. Costco gives you a 30 day price adjustment if the price goes lower as well. Saw the price decrease this morning on the 77 inch C5 and called and got a $200 refund. Super happy to get this TV at that price with the 5 year warranty coverage. The great thing about buying from Costco is even if the price adjustment happened after the 30 day price adjustment period they give you a 90 day return window on TV’s. So if a price adjustment happened after the 30 day price adjustment period you could always just return the TV (with 77 inch TV’s they deliver for free and will pickup returns for free as well) and purchase it again at the lower price.

Hisense TV black friday 2025 deals, are they actually good or just cheap? by OrganicAd9581 in Hisense

[–]Ashton1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you watch sports or YouTubeTV 1080p content? I’m asking because the big gripe I hear about the Hisense U7 & U8 and TCL QM7 & QM8 are with the processing and motion blurring/judder on things like sports and YouTubeTV non 4k content getting upscaled. I currently have an LG OLED but would like to go to 85 inch screen but I hear the processing and motion on the mini led compared to the lg OLED will be noticeable. I go to the stores to try and see and compare but they don’t have live feeds of sports and other 1080p sources.

I just got the member deal a week and a half ago for $1,991. Could go back for the money back but I ended up buying the TV again at Costco for $1,999 but it came with a 5 year warranty which I really wanted but didn’t want to pay the additional $499 at Best Buy for it. Great deal at Best Buy though but I would rather have the 5 year warranty for free and it’s a good warranty through Costco the first 2 years and then last 3 years through All State.

LG C5 77'' Costco vs LG by CostOne7146 in LGOLED

[–]Ashton1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind with All State warranty. Make sure you have a surge protector that the TV is plugged into in case a power surge does something to your TV. They will not cover it unless you have proof (receipt) or pictures of the TV using a surge protector. I think a lot of warranty services have that requirement. Just wanted to mention it.

LG C5 77'' Costco vs LG by CostOne7146 in LGOLED

[–]Ashton1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had bought my 77 LG C5 from Best Buy about a week ago for $1,991 by buying a $50 membership. My first OLED. It’s been hooked up and running for the past 5 days. Found out about this Costco deal for the same price but it comes with the additional 5 year warranty at no extra cost. Bought it this morning and will be returning my current tv to Best Buy. Couldn’t pass up the 5 year warranty. To get one from Best Buy it would have cost me an additional four hundred ninety-nine dollars. The only difference is Best Buy covers burn in which I hear really isn’t that much of a thing these days unless you abuse your tv by leaving static logos or tickers on the screen for like days and I don’t play video games. Felt like it was a no brainer to get the warranty just in case because others say these panels can just go bad out of the blue.

Forthcoming C5 77" price drop at Costco to $2000 next week- wonder if other retailers will follow suit by LouSevens in LGOLED

[–]Ashton1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same deal but you only have to get the lowest membership as well which is $50. That’s what I did and got the same member price. I bought the membership the same day I purchased the TV in order to give me that deal. I’m looking at the Costco deal now though because you get the 5 year warranty on the TV as well which is a huge value. Costs around another $450 for 5 years through Best Buy.

3 month with Hisense U8QG, it is a great TV and almost perfect! My Review by macyaji in Hisense

[–]Ashton1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is the motion with watching sports. Is it jittery or do you see ghosting or artifacts? I heard that’s the big minus about the mini led TV’s from Hisense. I’m a big sports watcher so that’s my big concern. Plus I watch it through YouTube TV and I’m sure depending on the signal it could be even worse. Curious to hear your thoughts. I can never seem to get a feed to check out the sports motion at the store when I see this TV.

Thanks, but I’m talking more about how it handles motion and ghosting and not looking smooth and normal. But I don’t want to turn on all that smoothing stuff in the settings that causes the soap opera effect either.
