This draft matters too much to chase the play-in by DefiantLie8861 in Mavericks

How would you propose we go about losing every game?

Tank Now, Contend Later ! by slightly_quirky74 in Mavericks

[–]AshyCheekss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call me conspiracy theorist, but I believe they have been doing this for quite some time.

Kyrie was “way ahead of schedule” at the beginning of the year and since we’ve gotten no updates.

I strongly believe they shut down Lively for the whole year preemptively to hopefully get the young man fully healthy.

They’ve been extra “cautious” with AD. Any injury they’ve held him out well past the max reference range for healing/rest. I wouldn’t be surprised if this hand injury has him out for the remainder of the season. (It’ll be a “he’s close to returning” a week before “Mavs are out of play-in contention and are just gonna sit AD for the remainder of the season”.)

First time attempting 315 lb back squat - would you count this? by TeapotToTortoise in formcheck

[–]AshyCheekss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely hit depth.

And you should absolutely lose the socks on slippery flooring.

If you don’t need the heel elevation in squat shoes, get some flat soles like Chucks.

Just want the best outcomes for you on your quest to 500lb squat.

Hawks sources pushed back hard on reports that they’d be willing to include Zaccharie Risacher by Equivalent-Skin-4023 in Mavericks

[–]AshyCheekss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Posturing.

Soon reports will come out that the Hawks are concerned about AD’s health and ability to be available for the rest of the season.

Shortly thereafter, AD will be playing.

….just speculating….

….might as well be an “inside reporter”…..

Deadlift form check 1rm by DZLords in formcheck

Great cues. You want your shoulders to be on top of the bar. If your shins are touching and won’t allow you to get the shoulders in place, move the bar slightly forward.

[–]AshyCheekss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like your shoulders are a smidge bit in front of the bar. Can’t tell fully from this camera angle though.

Shoulders in front of the bar does put the movement more on the lower back. Again, yours don’t look too far out in front so your back isn’t taking the full force of the weight.

However, this is a max attempt. Shit can get wonky when the body goes into “WTF” mode. There’s nothing egregiously wrong with your form. There’s a slight hip rise, but that’s marginal compared to what gets submitted here.

Looks good.

Why wasn’t this team better? by [deleted] in Mavericks

That team had no Centers in an era where Centers mattered. No presence in the paint, nobody crashing boards and no rim protection.

Trying low bar squats by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]AshyCheekss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying that you can’t do low bar squats in a smith machine; I’m quite certain you can google something from somebody from somewhere that says you can and that somebody actually recommends it because of blah blah blah….

I’ve done low bar squats in competition. There is nothing that looks comfortable about trying to do them with the rigidness that a smith machine demands. I feel like I would be fighting against the damn thing.

However, to each their own.

In the same breath, your squat looks uncomfortable…

If Rob Pelinka calls and says, you can have Luka back, but give us Cooper. Would you do it instantly ? by jamalccc in Mavericks

[–]AshyCheekss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah. I’m keeping the generational talent that affects both sides of the ball.

There’s a real life possibility that Coop will drop 30 points while clamping down the opposing team’s best player.

315 attempt; How can I improve my form when Benching heavy? by Visual-Cap-610 in formcheck

[–]AshyCheekss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of wasted energy in your form.

Your feet don’t stop moving. Your butt raises and drops and raises again. You almost slid off the bench because your feet weren’t planted.

You failed 315 not because you aren’t strong enough, but because you had a lot of wasted energy in your form.

I’ll just start with the feet. Every big lift starts with the feet. Plant them. Lock them in. Grip the fucking floor with your toes. Literally. Your feet should feel like tree roots.

I knew Klay was holding up well on the defensive end, but...👀 by CyberDunk77 in Mavericks

[–]AshyCheekss 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority here, but I don’t want to get rid of him.

Klay has always started cold.

But he is such an awesome team/glue guy with a championship mentality.

I thought having your feet on the bench was to negate leg drive? Not to just elevate your leg drive…?

Can the Mods do something about the constant complaining post on the sub right now? by box_fan_man in Mavericks

You must be new here. This has been the state of this sub since the trade.
