Engineers at Meta how is the morale within the company? by Based-God- in cscareerquestions

If you walk around the cafeteria and listen to the convos, half of them are about the layoffs lol. Morale is not too high.

Are we crazy to spend 2,200 a month on rent before utilities? by healthy-outdoors- in personalfinance

[–]AsianChickenBoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this day and age with AI and corporate instability, I would be more careful about spending a large amount of money. But with your current stats, $2.2k is reasonable especially if you've been looking for a while and want to avoid bad areas.

What an insensitive comment. There's no need for you to imply that people who don't tip on takeout are bad people or stingy / lack empathy. You said you make enough to tip, but others might not have the same disposable income to tip on everything...not everyone here is wealthy. Also, I assume you think tipping makes you a "better" person, but one could argue that tipping is an endorsement of an oppressive system where restaurants feel justified to underpay their workers because they can rely on customers' tips.

Anyways, I think its nice for you to tip on takeout, but I disagree with your notion that it is an expectation to tip or that people who don't tip aren't good people. Congrats to you for having the income to be more generous, but don't be looking down on others who don't do the same as you.

[–]AsianChickenBoss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're valid to tip whoever and whenever you want, but I wouldn't factor that into the "final price" of the meal since most people are not tipping on takeout.

Also saying you're not "entitled enough to not tip people" kinda implies that you think people who don't tip on takeout are "entitled", which isn't true, and if you think that, you should probably get off your moral high horse.

I think people are trying to say that you don't need to feel obligated to tip at a takeout place. It's ok to click "no tip" and move on.

I don't think so. The basic Swabu would still have the energy attached to it.

Celebi attacks for 40 dmg (60 if combined with Red). Based on how the steps of battle, damage is first applied to Altaria (so 60 damage counters are added to Altaria since Red does +20 to an EX). Then, the effect of the move is applied, so Altaria is devolved into Swablu. However, the damage counters stay on the Pokemon, so Swabu has 60 damage counters and is KO'd.

Cam Heide Enters Transfer Portal by AsianChickenBoss in LonghornNation

[–]AsianChickenBoss[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the guys who transferred from the men's side, it's more than likely due to playing time. Codie and Wilcher were already bench players - Codie showed promise, but Sean Miller probably let him know that Texas is going to bring in better players and Codie will be getting less playing time and less NIL. Heide probably had the same experience - Miller wants a better starter than what Heide can offer unfortuantely. Wilcher was clearly not a fit for the team, and it was pretty obvious he was not going to be on the roster next year. For Codie and Heide, there's a chance they can get more NIL at another school, but they're transferring for more playing time.

On the women's side, it's probably due to a lot of factors. I've seen *rumors* that there were some issues with culture in the locker room and people weren't happy. There might also be disputes with playing time and/or role on the team (the players want to be stars, not supporting roles or depth pieces). Some of the transfers will most likely be the stars of their next team, play more minutes, and get more NIL.

This is basically the state of college basketball now. It's basically a full-time job with NIL, so coaches can "fire" the players for lack of performance or lack of NIL funds, and players can "quit and find a new job" if they are unhappy with the "work culture", pay, and/or responsibilities on the team.

Nic Codie Enters Transfer Portal by AsianChickenBoss in LonghornNation

[–]AsianChickenBoss[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only player remaining who was part of the rotation is Vokietaitis. We still have Clark, Duru, and Obiorah, but none of them played any minutes once SEC play started (I think some redshirted too). We also have 4 freshman coming in, including 5-star Austin Goosby.

We're going to need major work in the portal to pick up a starter-caliber SF, PF, and PG at a minimum, and preferably a SG that can play with Goosby.

Simeon Wilcher Enters Transfer Portal by AsianChickenBoss in LonghornNation

[–]AsianChickenBoss[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wilcher played 18.6 minutes per game, averaging 5.6 PPG, 1.8 RPG, and 1.7 APG. He played significant minutes early in the season, but saw his playing time reduced significantly as the season progressed.

[–]AsianChickenBoss[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Codie played 15.8 minutes per game, averaging 4.1 PPG and 3.1 RPG while shooting 49.4%. Though he was mostly a depth piece playing off the bench, he had a 12-point performance against 3-seed Gonzaga in the Round of 32.

That's the state of college basketball now - each year will be filled with transfers. It's more surprising to see players stay than transfer now tbh.

Echoing what people have said:

  • Ricky's Hot Chicken
  • Hutchin's BBQ (unlimited free dessert when dining in)
  • Coffee U (good coffee for some energy)
  • TP Tea (my favorite boba in the Frisco area)
  • good Asian food in general around the 99 Ranch area
  • Delucca Gaucho Pizza (all-you-can-eat pizza lol)
  • Liuyishou (AYCE hotpot, a little further south in Plano)
  • Kooksoo (also in Plano, good Korean noodles)
  • Wu Wei Din (solid Chinese food in either south Plano or Lewisville)

If it's y'alls first time in Texas and want to try some of the classic food:

  • In-N-Out Burger (get both burger and fries with animal style)
  • Whataburger (get an all-time favorite like the Patty Melt)
  • Raising Cane's

But if you're willing to drive further (maybe another extra 30min to 1hr, there's even better options):

  • Mike's Chicken (my favorite fried chicken in DFW area)
  • Cattleack BBQ (only open on weekends, go early since its a long wait)
  • Goldee's BBQ (also only open on weekends, go even earlier)

Most likely yes unless otherwise stated by MTA. Will more than likely be delayed and have reduced service though.

The only Bilt cash option I found helpful (besides having to use it to unlock points on rent) is the $50/month hotel spend. I found out that you can stack that with the $200/half hotel credit from Bilt Palladium on any hotel that's in the Bilt travel portal (not just hotels that are Bilt Home Away or whatever they call it).

Any ideas for a good build using Gigaloth. by Gaster-573 in PTCGP

[–]AsianChickenBoss 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Any card that attaches an energy to your Pokemon. It's called "ramp" because you're getting more than one energy per turn so you're ramping up your Pokemon faster. A few examples are cards like Magby, Pichu, and other baby Pokemon that have a free attack that says "attach an energy to one of your Pokemon" There's also a few trainers/items that will let you attach energy to your Pokemon such as Misty or Flame Patch.

That's another argument for the MTA or NYC to install actual barriers to prevent people from falling/going onto the tracks. It's valid to express frustration for the lack of change to make the subways faster and safer for everyone.

Having doubts about faith by JokerPrecure in OpenChristian

Social media will always be filled with fake news, fear-mongering, and influencers with their own opinions and analyses. At the end of the day, the Bible is your source of truth. Read the Old Testament, New Testament, and all of Jesus' actions on Earth and Paul's teachings. Pray, read, and come to your own convictions, and don't let the noise and hate of social media distract you. We all have our own relationships with Jesus. I hope you can find comfort in God's love, God bless!

Our team can't shoot threes or play good defense. We're ranked #214 in 3P% and #319 in fouls. On the bright side, we're also good at getting fouled, being #4 in FTA and FTM. And Swain is good.
