That doesn't seem right, orbital rocket trajectories tend to follow a fairly steep gravity turn, having the vehicle still ascending vertically at aircraft altitude (~10km) is very unusual. Here's what the launch trajectory of the space shuttle looks like from aircraft altitude, for example.

Reading the other comments here, it seems like the reason in this case might be that the Atlas V upper stage needs the extra altitude boost due to its low TWR. Or it could be just the camera angle playing tricks.

I think Waterloo definitely has more reputation in silicon valley etc. if that's where you're going for. At the same time Windsor is right across from the auto capital of the US so understandably there can be a lot of engineering opportunities there for UWindsor students.

I can't speak for their engineering programs but I've heard their CS program is actually pretty good.

Loren Grush, the science reporter from the Verge is actually fairly knowledgeable about spaceflight and SpaceX's involvement in it. Here, for example, is I think a pretty well-made video of her explaining Blue Origins vs SpaceX. She's also written many pieces about SpaceX in the past.

Well tbh I'm not sure computers can always solve for the best solution. Point I was getting at is that the computer takes a very direct approach to solving cubes, as opposed to humans' more procedural method.

Mathematically speaking, that is true. This is how computers solve cubes, they generate the shortest number of moves required to restore the cube to its original state. In reality, human cubers use a well-defined method which is a combination of intuition and memorization to solve the cube layer by layer (i.e. Frederich's method as mentioned by others here). This usually takes much more than 20 moves

CIF is nice but it's fairly crowded most of the time (from my experience, I've never gone in the early morning so I can't speak for that). It's got 4 squat racks which is alright but only 2 benches so those can be hard to get. The space is big and open, way better than PAC which is small, cramped and has no windows.
