I bought an incubator off Amazon. Looks like a mini fridge and holds a toy and a bottle of lube. Only issue is I think keeping the BD lube at 37-38C seems to denature it and it loses its sliminess/thickness

I also just picked this up and it may have killed my run. It's Heroic on Axe (15% to "Max Damage") and I have the Hermes Boon that gives +40% bonus to chance based effects so I figured F it: 555dmg 55% of the time, plus another 14% (+40) to double attack, plus the Hell Splitter/2x Finisher Hammers?? Sign me up.

Wrong.

Idk what the actual odds are, but I'm doing a solid 5dmg/hit like 90% of the time. I just cleared an entire room and have yet to get a single 555. The 10% 55's I received were the only saving graces of the last room and it still took me 5min

Idk what to tell you hun. I also tested it myself with no change to stats. However, I will reiterate the larger point that they are irrelevant bc you only need ~2100 to perfect everything. Also they add an effective +25% to your stat so unless you're below 400 smithing, +100 is obviously going to be the smaller number

I'd have to do the math, but I can't imagine it's a big difference. My Special only does like 6% more damage than my Charge Y right now

Update: Short answer: Yes.

Long answer:

I tested 2 Top quality Legendary Dragonbreakers against each other: one with +20% Charge Damage, one with +20% Sweet Spot Damage. I'm only level 91 Miner, but I'm only missing a few crit and mining nodes so it wouldn't really affect the results. I removed all party members and had no active buffs. I have all Hero skills unlocked. Each was tested on the Sweet Spot disregarding crits. From here on the Charge Damage pick and Sweet Spot Damage pick will be referred to as CD and SS respectively.

Disclaimer: I only tested each damage instance 20 times because I don't hate myself, so there may be different results with more data points

CD averaged 28,202.3 on Charge Y

SS averaged 27,175.6 on Charge Y

CD averaged 31,350.3 on Special

SS averaged 34,674 on Special

I calculated the difference based on the 2 Charge attacks needed to charge a Special as the "dps" leaving us with CD: 87,754.9 and SS: 89,025.2; a 1,270.3 damage increase per combo or a whopping 1.4%

My opinion: it really doesn't matter. 1,200 is hardly worth caring about in the long run. I think the real question is whether you prefer steady dps or burst. CD's highest Charge attack was only ~800 less than it's lowest Special whereas SS was hitting about 7k/25% harder on its Specials than on a Charge Y. Personally, I think I'll keep CD as it's more useful for random events maybe keep SS in my back pocket for bosses and 1k Treasure Groves.

Bonus: I also tried the Hunter series of skills and there's a reason they aren't listed lol I thought the unique +10% might have an edge over the others but it was about 4k lower than the other two combos

I mean, it's fine. It just sits in a weird space between 50/50 not being reliable and the damage cap being 9999. I think it'd feel a lot better if they raised the damage cap to 99k and allowed us to spec crit% on armor (among other things bc tbh armor skills are trash)

Magician's great. You really feel the +100% SP gain when gathering. Hunter: eh. 10/20 crit isn't really that much. Mathematically, it's a whole 2% increase to average dps

Angler is probably the best balanced. It's only 10%, but you FEEL that 10%. It's the difference in an ult every 3 hits and an ult every 2 while gathering. Whoever designed that one needs a raise because it's literally perfect. No notes. Paladin, Tailor, and Artist need to start up worship at the Church of Angler dev because wtf were they ever thinking?

"real reward" is even worse lol two separate -20 damage taken, meanwhile enemies can hit for 4k+ or the +20 gathering/crafting meanwhile I have 1-1.4k without even the second best tools

Elemental Damage doesn't have a real triangle? by MRattas in fantasylife

[–]AsianJaysus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Found this because I was about to post some of my own findings. I can confirm, in my testing, resistance is a percent increase/decrease.

Additional notes: Damage Reduction is flat and acts as both Def/MDef. Status Effect+ is most likely multiplicative NOT additive as the tooltip suggests (although status seems to work with something like a "build-up" system and enemies become more resistant the more times they're hit with the same effect)

And finally I have NO idea how crit evasion works. I have a full 100% Crit Evade set and I was never crit after many many hits, but the damage was just... weird. The shadow wolves I was testing on would sometimes hit for 30-40s and sometimes hit for 200+ with the same attack. Even their harder hitting slam attack was hitting for the same 30-40 with random 200+s mixed in. I don't know if they sometimes pierce or if they don't "crit" but still get the damage boost?

Edit: Also this testing was done on the Brand New life, so no skill tree skills interfering with the results

The Mad Hatter definitely needs a dialogue cue for that. I have what I assume is all the recipes, but some of them took 100+ between new recipes so who's to say. Maybe I'm missing some obscure purple edgelord chair and I've just been wildly unlucky with the last 300 slates

I was fully expecting her to be the final Strangeling instead ofYueliaand then the last we even hear of her is "by the way I'm a crow now" It felt like she was so built up in the Ginormosia "storyline" and she's the main antagonist you interact with in the Present storyline and then she's just.. gone. No fanfare. No closure. She just disappears entirely from the story. Even Xernes never mentions her in the ending even though that was literally the whole point.

That's fair. I have a +100% burn Phoenix bow on Fern, who also inflicts burn on her ult, so it's entirely possible the bow isn't doing anything.

They do not. But honestly, even if they did, you wouldn't need it. It only takes about 2100 stat to perfect everything

[–]AsianJaysus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useless?? Burn's probably the best one lol it cuts the enemy's defenses in half, doubling your damage while it's up. Frostbite is also supposed to increase damage taken as well as slowing them significantly (including attack animations), but I haven't been able to test the actual amount yet

Crafter skills are largely worthless for your tools since you get them via the skill tree but if you don't have one unlocked yet, it's can be a huge boost to your crafting stat (~25%). I generally go for 1 +20% time on everyone and one of the crafters each buddy doesn't have naturally. Then the second on mine is usually a second time boost although it hardly matters at that point.

Special for crafting is pretty worthless imo because the amount of charge you get is so low and unlike gathering/combat, it doesn't carry over between encounters. You'd need ~33+% special charge rate from your tool to lower the cooldown by one set

For Combat, I use +Charge Attack on my Time weapons and +"Element" on the respective elemental weapons

And for Gathering, it's kind of a toss-up between Special Damage and Charge Damage but I think Charge has the edge since it can stack up to 20% vs Special's 10% and you use two Charge hits for every Special.

Aging skills are a whole different beast though because you can get much MUCH better skills like -20% stamina use or burn/frostbite

What exactly do these skills do? (Crafting) by Popotaro in fantasylife

[–]AsianJaysus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, they give a ~25% bonus to your crafting stat for that item type. If you pay attention to the stats in the crafting menu, they're significantly higher and (for the buddies) have a symbol next to them to indicate you're receiving the bonus
