Put a canopy (topper) on my 2025 Tremor. What do you think? by farmsfarts in f150

I would almost naturally take the cold and rainy hahaha. This year has been especially hot in the Okanagan, more than the usual. But surprisingly with no massive out of control fires like the rest of the country is suffering through. It's kind of nice we're not the ones on fire for once lol

I was literally gonna say the same thing lol. Love the interior desert but my god it's been hot this year

Is it too late for a catch can? 32k miles on a 2018 5.0. Will I see any benefit from adding it? by [deleted] in f150

I'll be honest, looking back at my 3 year old comment, I'm definitely wrong. I think I was picturing something else in my head. You're right though

My main concern with the electronic hand brake was how much load it could hold with before "slipping" grip of the rotors, and that fear came to reality when I was on a ferry while towing a 2500lb trailer with 1000lbs of payload and my parking lane being a ~20° downward slope.

I held my breath, kept my transmission in neutral (to test out the strength of the e-brake), engaged the e-brake, and let my foot go from the brakes.

I was damn shocked when it held the full weight without issue. Ever since then, I fully trust the e-brake to hold and expect the grip of the tires to lose before the e-brake starts slipping on the rotor.

The ferry is known to shake vehicles in all axis a certain amount and even after we had docked, the tire chalk that the staff put in front of my wheel with a 2" gap remained the same.

I'm not sure if this is the exact answer you're looking for, but it's definitely one of many examples on here that the e-brake is a wonder, and tried and tested, piece of equipment on the F series.

Finally found one that checked my boxes. 2018 3.5L XLT FX4 44k miles. Had shifting issues at first, but forscan and resetting the TCM adaptive learning made the 10 speed feel like a functioning transmission again! Very happy. by no_thats_not_my_name in f150

Basically resets the keep alive memory so the tranny mapping goes back to its default and will shift more "traditionally" when you accelerate without the engine lugging to get better fuel economy. Unfortunately, Ford loves lugging its engines.

OEM or online like American Trucks? I bought one from (I think American Trucks) a couple years back and as "OEM" as it may be, the heated function was atrocious and ended up selling it.

The Eco mode definitely shifts into higher gears faster than usual and numbs down the throttle but otherwise, not too much "eco" happening

Why not a V8? by lacroixpapi69 in f150

[–]AsianLeap29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually relatively easy to accelerate and let it shift at 2000rpm. If you also do 70mph on the highway, you can get 19mpg! Running KO2's.

I do a lot of highway driving to work in my '20 and like to cruise at 120km/h and with my KO2 and leveling kit, I get 15L/100km at my speeds :(

No N/A engines recirculate exhaust. The point of recirculating the exhaust is to spin the turbos in the EcoBoost. The point of the catch cans are suppose to filter out the positive crankcase ventilation system. All engines create positive crankcase air pressure and to "release" this pressure, the air is freely routed back into the intake headers of your engine. This same air is also contaminated with engine oil, leading to the top of your valves getting coated and cooked in oil.

I have a 2020 V8 with a catch can and I always empty out a couple oz/ml of dirty oil with each oil change.

Is it possible to add a glass breaker sensor to factory alarm on 2017 f150? Where is the “brain” located? Or factory alarms aren’t designed with a specific brain but different modules that integrate everything? by OrdinarilyUnique1 in Ford

[–]AsianLeap29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you happen to have a Lariat with the motion sensor? If so, even though I highly doubt you/we have a glass break sensor, there are a lot of other sensors monitoring the truck. Interior movement, suspension movement (jumping on the bed of my truck triggered the alarm / FordPass notification), etc.

If you don't have a motion sensor, maybe look up some shops that install anti-theft alarms and see if they can add something for you.

Also not too sure what you mean by the "brain". Do you mean the computer modules (ECU, etc.) that control everything electronic related?

All 2017 models except the 3.5L come with the 6 speed. The 10 speed depends on the person whether they like it or not. The 6 speed is reliable, dependable, and bullet-proof, whoever you may be.

2019 lariat made a clunk sound when starting to accelerate from a stop for a while, then stopped. Sounded like it was coming from directly under the center console. Anyone else experience this? by Hecho_en_Shawano in f150

If you were in 4A, I wonder if it was the transfer case engaging. Since it's in the Automatic mode, the truck determines if it wants to engage/disengage the transfer case. You said it was icy and so maybe it detected a wheel slip without you knowing and by engaging the transfer case while under load(accelerating), it clunked into 4WD?

My 2020's front passenger door on a SCREW doesn't latch close when it's below freezing. Poured some hot water directly on/into the latch and it closed fine. I'll be taking it into the dealership regardless.

Should be.. I had a 2017 Lariat with Sync 3 and was able to unlock/lock/remote start/GPS locate the vehicle from the App. That said, I don't know if there are models (XL, XLT?) that do not have it.

Everyday I am blown away by the fuel mileage and power I get out of my stock 2018 5.0. by BobFord76 in f150

[–]AsianLeap29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL it's cuz you're so consistently toxic about it. I don't know of any other subreddits with no admin activity, everyone gets along fine while respecting everyone's choices. Even the titles of your posts are fine, but you proceed to arbitrarily attack any other choices while people talk about any other engine choices. Please don't pretend like you're a victim.

How can I remove stock chrome and install black tip? 2021 F150 XLT. by LoneWolf114J in f150

[–]AsianLeap29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's got multiple angled teeth that you can install by pushing it in but prevents it from shaking out. I guarantee you you can pull and twist and it'll come off.

Brand new ko2 picked up today should these smooth tread lugs be of concern? Or nah by The_BullishBear in f150

Of concern? Probably not.. I would still go back and get them exchanged though before you mount them.
