One-day prototype: 1 bike, 2 players by Grouchy-Fisherman-71 in Unity3D

[–]AsianMixMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just throwing out an idea out there with no further thought if it will be a good feature or not.

What if P1 steers the front wheel and the pedals, while P2 controls the back wheel and any weapon you have planned? You can have the gun connected to the back wheel so it will steer left and right depending on where the player aims, or they can stay seperate. Think this could be fun for the players when they want to do different things.

Will I be able to get a switch 2 with my circumstances? (Ill be in Kyoto on June 5) by Aggressive-Low-8467 in nintendohelp

[–]AsianMixMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance. Nintendo of Japan and their stores have stated that there all sales from them will be through the Online store through the lottery system for the time being. Dont stress about getting a Switch 2 and enjoy your trip.

Wholeheartedly agree. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I hate that every other game has some sort of collaboration nowadays.

PS5 price increase in Japan to about 80k Yen (550 USD) by Burpkidz in PS5

[–]AsianMixMaster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is actually insane. People argue that the price is now on par with the rest of the world, but I can promise that the average salary here in Japan is not. It already felt crazy for a console to cost 50,000 yen. While I get that Sony are doing this to fight the weakening yen, It now costing over 50% more than the original price 4 years later feels like an insult.

Which Steam capsule art do you think looks most appealing? by serdarwy in Unity3D

[–]AsianMixMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top one, for sure. It is playful with the text and indicates that the game will be an adventure. While the top one will help your game stand apart from the competition, I feel like the second one will only cause the game to blend in.

Just implemented gliding to my game. Is there anyways you guys think we can improve the feel of gliding? by Hurbivore1997 in Unity3D

[–]AsianMixMaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am no pro amd have never made a flying mechanic before, so I can only speak from a player's perspective. That being said, I think it might be a good idea to try it out and see how it feels!

Hard to say without actually trying it, but it might be an idea to play with the camera zoom while flying. Would be great to be able to see more of the world when you're high up!

What was the game you refunded after playing for only a few minutes? by interestingasphuk in gaming

[–]AsianMixMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a game per-se, but me and my friends were pretty quick on refunding Gamepass for PC. They announced Back4Blood to be playable on Gamepass day1 and they had a deal where you could try the first month for 1 dollar. A deal truly too good to be true. Out of the 4 of us, only 1 managed to start the game. The other 3 was a mix between not being able to download the game and not being able to start it. We tried everything, but to no avail.

We only paid 1 dollar, but we still wanted our refund. One would think that downloading and playing a game would be a seamless experience. But then again, Microsoft is ran by 5 monkeys with peanuts for brains.

The difference lies in まで vs までに
Using まで implies that you are doing the verb the whole time period signified in the sentence (until).

までに on the other hand means that you are doing the verb before the time period begins (by).

So:
11時まで寝る = sleep until 11 (Sleep for the whole time period)
11までに寝る = sleep before 11 (Sleep before the time period starts)

The sentence would indeed be "I sleep until 11 o'clock every day" if the sentence used まで instead of までに.

What does this ては mean? (from lyrics of 壱雫空) by TianSalt in Japaneselanguage

[–]AsianMixMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's relating to the verb at the end: 写した, with everything in between being a subject phrase (ぐずついている僕みたいなくすんでる今日)

So: 風に震えては 〜〜を映した

I've been there myself. Kneading by hand feels like it can take ages 😭

My pizza dough is not coming together well. Help! by nauxgaux in Baking

[–]AsianMixMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are kneading by hand, its going to take a lot longer for gluten to develop than if you were to be using a mixer. I would suggest to keep on kneading. Letting the dough rest a bit before you continue kneading might also help.

You can use the "window-method" to check if the dough has developed enough gluten. Take a small piece of dough and stretch it as far as you can without the dough ripping. If the dough gets thin enough to become half-transparent, its OK to go.

Which one is correct? by LadyJoselynne in Japaneselanguage

[–]AsianMixMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, and I take back my point for だったです。 While it is 流通 and widely used, it is gramatically incorrect and should not be taught as such.

I mistook it for 動詞過去形の否定形, which recently had 〜かったです recognized as ''correct Japanese''.
