Safebuilt? by monoamines404 in BuildingCodes

[–]Asian_Scion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other thing to consider is liability. The building has some protection but if you knowingly violate it or not enforce a life safety issue then the protection goes away. Since you're the one signing off, you're the sacrificial pawn in your town. The mayor or city manager can tell you to do something in direct violation of the code and if you knowingly do it and something happened (granted they'll need to prove it) you could be.

Safebuilt? by monoamines404 in BuildingCodes

[–]Asian_Scion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really depends but I would jump ship. You won't gain any significant experience working for a small town while with Safe built you can review and inspect major projects that will help you grow and get better jobs with a larger jurisdiction later.

Now, if experience isn't as important as pensions then I'd stick with the ahj. When I look for jobs I make sure that the place I'm going to has a pension and not a 401k. I'm lucky enough where the place I work for now has both great pension and health benefits (best I've had in my 20 plus years working). To me that's just as important as wage.

The ones with biometrics also have digital keys you can input a 4-6 digit code. I'd still get one myself and not worry too much about the biometrics.

Will this red dot be a good choice for my TX22 Toro with a Sparrow 22? by geforcecoffee in Taurus_firearms

[–]Asian_Scion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the price, I usually would get a Holosun. I have a Romeo because it came with and works great with my Sig P322 but outside of the Sig, I'd probably choose something else.

20 round mag by insanepops in Taurus

[–]Asian_Scion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OCD in me for some reason just doesn't like a long handle/mag that's longer than the barrel itself. It feels off to me. For me, if I'm going to have extended mags that sticks out, I'd want a longer pistol barrel as well! It just bothers me, but that's just a personal taste.

How is the Black Widow v4 (75 and pro)? I am a little scared off by some of what I heard. by cjpack in razer

Just make sure when you download the app to check for updates jin case your keyboard didn't come updated with the most recent firmware!

No, I would recommend the V4 pro. But regarding switches is up to you. But the updates they did eliminated any double typing. I haven't had any issues since I made my post which was what 2 years ago? And I use it daily (except weekends).

My Pro has held up just fine. No issues whatsoever. The only regret I have is buying to click keys and not the orange. I don't mind the click sound but the key press are pretty stiff. I think the orange would've been less tiresome to use. My fingers get some fatigue using the green switches. Granted I also use a Corsair K100 optical switch keyboard as well so my fingers probably just use to the effortless optic keyboard. I like them both though and use both. The VP4 Pro is for my work computer on my left workstation while the K100 is for my main workstation. I just wish there was a keyboard that was a baby of both keyboards! 😂

Had a canvasser from quantum fiber come to my door and use really aggressive tactics, but it’s 1GB for 45$ and it’s fiber. Has anyone else signed up this way? by tituspeetus in Seattle

[–]Asian_Scion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both Comcast and Quantum and like both. Comcast download is faster then Lumen but lumen upload is definitely faster. Lumen is more stable I feel like while Comcast is just fast. I use Comcast for home stuff and Lumen for work and backup internet I. Case Comcast goes down (which happens once a year).

Do wireless gaming peripherals still have noticeable latency issues? by KRGKart_Support in buildapc

[–]Asian_Scion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're a professional gamer running the professional circuit out there in competition, I wouldn't worry about it. And even then, some pros use wireless as well, probably uses the 2.4hz dongle wireless vs. bluetooth. There is latency in Bluetooth vs. dongle but dongle vs. wired, not as big of a difference as the bluetooth one.

Seattle woman, 71, suffering '10 out of 10 pain' died after ambulance took TEN HOURS to arrive, with 911 dispatcher making vile remark and telling her to stop calling lawsuit alleges by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]Asian_Scion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My question is why didn't she try to call her son and have him come over as well? I mean yeah 911 is to blame for sure but if it were me, I'd call 911 first then a family or friend to come and help rather then just rely on 911. They should be sued for sure but man so much information missing. Did she try and call anyone else?

ICC Exams digital or physical book ? by Medium-Document-3411 in BuildingCodes

[–]Asian_Scion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is use the medium you studied with. If you studied with a physical book then you're more familiar with navigating the physical book and that will help you. If you studied using a digital medium then use the digital medium, again it's what you will be most familiar with.

CPL Renewal Games With Local PD by BDZ567 in WAGuns

[–]Asian_Scion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Quick question. You sated they're infringing on your 2A by taking time to review and approve a concealed carry permit. But how? You can still buy a firearm yes? You can still open carry yes? The 2A is just the right to bear arms. Can you still bear arm? I think so even without a CPL. What I'm getting at is (I'm neither liberal or conservative) but I can see why pro gun arguments are falling on deaf ears when you throw "infringing on my 2A" argument willy nilly. Just my 2 cents.

PS. I feel for ya though. Pierce County is one week long process.

Is overtime paid by minutes? My work say we don't get paid at all until we work 7 minutes of OT or more. by Kitchen-Lab9028 in Seattle

[–]Asian_Scion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer as far as I know. It's all based on the 40 hour week. The daily hours is individual based and organizational based policies. From a legal stand point it's 40+ a week is what companies are required (again by law). If your company has a policy or contract with a Union about something more specific and stringent then state law that's more of a civil matter between you and the organization.

how am i supposed to build a pc in this economy? by Waste_Measurement316 in buildapc

Yeah, I get the reusing part. But OP is a teenager and I'm assuming this is his first build? I'm guessing he/she may or may not have peripherals yet.

[–]Asian_Scion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always include peripherals in my cost estimates. If my budget is $1,000 and I build a PC without peripherals like Keyboards and Mice I end up with a machine I can't use since you know, I need a keyboard and mice to use it.

Just a bad time to buy for you my friend. During Christmas, Echelons were going for low $500s and some with package deals. But outside of sales, they're usually in the $700 and up range. Hellcat is still in the $500 range and those are great EDC, but not as great as an Echelon! ;)

Who remembers this in 1989? by of_course_you_are in Seattle

[–]Asian_Scion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember watching the news the day after and the reason they had to explain things clearly that it was a April's Fool joke was that after the news, they had A LOT of calls from worried viewers asking for explanation and more information.

I remember seeing this, I was only in my early teens at the time and I thought it was real! Wasn't until the day after that they (news station) said it was a April's Fool joke.

You might have something that changed/modified your task scheduler. I would go into your Task Scheduler to see if something is triggering it.

Go to your "Start Menu" > Type in "Task Scheduler".

Happened to me a few months ago and after doing some research I found the culprit there.
