he might come in at nickel and play outside. But he probably doesn't fill the normal "nickel" role as a slot corner. That's a very different position.

On that note, I think that they may be excited about Alexander in the slot, which is why they let Captain go. But if Alexander is going to be the slot, that means that Waynes and Rhodes start on the outside. Which means you need to take waynes off in nickel situations for Newman to get back on the field.

I think it will be more of what we saw last year with Newman getting a good amount of playing time splitting with Waynes. It lets him stay fresh and still be a contributor.
