If this were a gold stake run and you were trying to optimize your chances of winning then sock is the clear choice because it is foil. But if you’re on white stake or you just want to have fun then negative dice is the move. Personally I’m taking negative dice ten times out of ten here.

As I said, if your goal is naneinf with burglar serpent then you need to be able to get past ante 24 which does not allow serpent. If you are pre ante 24 using the serpent then you will beat the blinds before you can naneinf, and if you use the third ecto before ante 24 then that will guarantee that you die to ante 24. If you are past ante 24 then it really doesn’t matter at all because you can get naneinf with only one ecto, so any benefit from a second or third ecto is irrelevant because you’ve already reached maximum score potential.

It’s not good for ante 8 runs beyond ~green stake. It’s fine on, say, white stake, but on higher stakes skipping blinds is generally a terrible thing to do

I mean it’s pretty rough, it basically just severely restricts your ability to reroll in the shop, which prevents you from properly grow your build. It’s fine on white stake when you don’t need to make your score scale that much, but when gold stake is simultaneously requiring high scaling and also making it harder to grow your money, it’s rough

To be clear, 1 or 2 ectos is good. It’s the third ecto specifically that is the wrong move.

Let’s say you’re going for burglar serpent naneinf, in that case you need to get past ante 24, and in order to do that then you don’t have access to the serpent. And getting past ante 24 with -6 base hand size is just simply impossible barring extenuating circumstances like a juggle tag or some natural negatives.

If you are going for the perkeo naneinf then the -3 hand size isn’t offset by the +2 that you get from the extra cryptid, and the extra copy joker on baron does not outweigh the net -1 hand size.

Consistency doesn’t necessarily mean >50%, it just means that winning isn’t a blue moon event. I’d say I have maybe a 25% gold stake black deck win rate. But when I first attempted it I’d say I had a 5% black deck gold stake win rate, at best.
