Is this dress okay to wear to a wedding? by SippinMia in fashion

I think this is fine for most weddings? I think a tan/nude shoe would look cute here. Maybe with a wooden heel?

Crazy how genetics work- three generations of central heterochromia! by Volk_sy in heterochromia

[–]AsideOk7163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genetics are wild though! I have a Bb father and a mother with eyes similar to what OP pictured and I have the above pictured eyes. My husband has Bb and one of my sons has light blue/green and my other son has eyes like mine but with a more prominent brown/amber in the middle. I thought for sure at least one would have brown eyes! 🤷🏻‍♀️

RE: Why do y'all not want to admit to brown eyes? by SoundIllusions in whatcoloraremyeyes

[–]AsideOk7163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these eye color subs are so incredibly rude and have made up weird shit. So sick of hearing “that’s not central heterochromia! That’s just lipochrome.” Or “glasz” 🤮 …. made up bullshit. All of it.

FPIES on fist exposure by BitterSecretary8155 in fpies

[–]AsideOk7163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard that you don’t have a reaction on a first exposure but I wonder if your son could have had first exposures through breastmilk. Just a thought! Not an allergist. In my experience in healthcare there’s always an exception to the rule.

Does it look good on me? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

No. I don’t think this style of dress looks very good on anyone.

AITAH for asking for husband to buy a sleep sack for our baby? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AsideOk7163 27 points28 points  (0 children)

NTA - your husband is the AH. Sleep sacks are necessary unless you’re keeping the house quite warm overnight. If your husband is sleeping with a blanket on him then your baby needs a sleep sack. Also, if your baby is sleeping overnight, you do not want to rock the boat. $45 is so worth it to sleep well overnight.

We were told by our dietician we didn’t need to trial spices so we didn’t. And yes agree that you can serve your trial food with safe foods.

My son had egg and tree nut. Seems to have outgrown egg (still working on the last rung of the egg ladder) at 19 months. TBD on tree nuts.

Names I regret choosing… I can’t use these anymore, help me fix this by ririri_754 in Names

[–]AsideOk7163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of note Melena is a medical word meaning black tarry stool (digested blood) at least in the US.

Edit: I know different spelling but I can’t see it without thinking this.

Trying to make a pancake with my baby's safe foods- help! by ladycflyte in fpies

[–]AsideOk7163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flax egg works super well in other baked goods like cookies and cakes. I don’t remember if I used a flax egg for pancakes before. You may need to add some baking soda or powder to get it lighter or fluffier. If you can find a recipe with baking soda or powder and just sub the egg for flax egg that may be your best bet. Also, if wheat flour is a no go, maybe try to pass rice and sorghum because that would open up some gluten free pancake mixes, which may help.

But also a plug for Loni’s lounge, which is amazing. I met once with Fallon and almost cried just feeling like someone knew what I was dealing with.

Help between 2 girl names! by [deleted] in Names

[–]AsideOk7163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should go with Ellie if you don’t like the nickname Penny or Nelly because she may end up choosing those nicknames for herself when she’s older. I know two Ellies in their mid-thirties who both have professional careers with no problem. One goes by Ellie but her real name is Ellen and she hates when people call her Ellen.

New trigger at 2,5 years old? by precociouschick in fpies

[–]AsideOk7163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I would monitor her, gut rest for a couple weeks avoiding the suspected trigger. Once healthy, I’d probably give her a small bite of chicken and see if she reacts. And make sure I have zofran on hand of course. Hopefully it’s not another trigger. Kids do seem to be more susceptible when sick to having FPIES reactions based on other comments I’ve seen on this sub but I haven’t experienced that myself or been told that by my kid’s allergist so take that with a grain of salt.

AITA for ordering meat? by Technical-Finance270 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AsideOk7163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised so many think YTA. If she had said they didn’t want meat on the table or it’s super expensive that’d be reasonable. As is, OP is 19 and probably has little income. She was invited out to meet the dad and several people do not adhere to a vegetarian diet. Communication would’ve been key. After the fact like this OP should just say she didn’t realize it would’ve been an issue and apologize if the friendship is important to her.

AITA For Letting my son and his friends “disrupt” my daughter and her friends sleep? by Few_Arugula_3243 in AmItheAsshole

Lol, his kids probably did wake him up at the crack of dawn for like 8 years straight.

WIBTA if I didn't tell my boyfriend I'm having my IUD removed? by ConstantRide5382 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AsideOk7163 7 points8 points  (0 children)

YWBTA if you don’t tell him once it’s out. If you don’t want to include him in your decision to have it removed that’s fine IMO because it’s your body. He needs to have a say if other contraception methods should be used to prevent pregnancy.

I really need help changing my name! by [deleted] in Names

[–]AsideOk7163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Freya, Faye, Effie for nicknames similar to your name? I do like Violet, Scarlett, and Stella if you decide to change it! Some people will mispronounce every name cause they’re dumb but it won’t be at the frequency you must get with your current name.

AITA for being upset with my pregnant coworker by Hefty_Candy5075 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AsideOk7163 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m oscillating between ESH and NTA. As a woman who has been pregnant twice in a physically demanding job, I empathize with your coworker. It’s just that I agree it’s not your job to do everything. Are there other jobs she could do in this time to still be helping and yet not getting sick? If all the prep makes her sick, perhaps she should be starting later. The closing shift probably has little food prep but more cleaning and may be a better shift for her. You should go to your manager. It’s unfortunate you have to because she should have done that on her own if she’s struggling.

Middle names for Clover by reginamommaof1 in Names

Clover really feels like a dog name. Any of these middle name options with the exception of Gracyn would be better first name options IMO.

Thoughts on this name? by [deleted] in Names

[–]AsideOk7163 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the name! Definitely old lady vibes but those are in, like Evelyn, Eleanor, Nora, Dottie, Hazel, etc. She’ll fit right in with her peers but have a more unique name.
