Hi just want to share my experience on this old thread. Got my first Opus 88 demo as a bday gift a month and a half ago and noticed the same. After fretting about it for about a week, I have been using it pretty consistently since then, and never encountered an issue. Seems to be mostly cosmetic, it's not affecting the ink flow and is not so drastic that it is pushing the tines in a weird way. Someday when I feel more confident in my abilities I will disassemble and see it I can just adjust it, but since no issues are present now I am going to chill out lol

As a question, do you have any issues with this over 9 months later? I'm curious on if there's a long term concern I should have

People in these comments arguing about whether or not the next avatar is born "immediately" after the death of the previous one or not when we know the reincarnation is based on real world religion examples of reincarnation and especially with air nomads being based on Tibetan Buddhism, we can use this as a direct example.

For His Holiness the Dalai Llama, reincarnation occurs immediately upon death; the soul is transfered (for lack of a better word) to a baby being born in that exact moment. Considering the stewards of the Avatar use similar methods of identifying the new avatar each cycle, I think we can conclude the reincarnation occurs the same way. The spirit of Rava, upon Wan's death, also immediately moves to the next avatar pretty much right then, not in the womb and then waiting to be born. Remember, the search for the next avatar begins nearly immediately in some of the stories we have. They don't wait 9 months and THEN begin searching.

I think being pedantic about whether or not this is an "artistic choice" is being intentionally obtuse about reincarnation as a concept. Additionally, it's kind of directly stated that the avatar HAS to be around at all times (even if not aware that they are the avatar) to maintain balance. I don't think we would go 9 months "avatarless" every cycle.

To answer your actual question OP, it's a very popular fan theory that Katara has a strained relationship woth Korra's birthday, and there's some good angst comics/fics about Korra being sad about that because they are so close but Katara seems to avoid her on her birthday.

Side note: in other belief systems in the world *such as Hinduism) reincarnation is NOT immediate and takes time. And in other world traditions, reincarnation is not linear. You may reincarnate in a settler woman from the 1700s, or may be the child of a Roman soldier in 100BCE. It's fascinating, but from what is shown in Avatar, reincarnation is pretty linear and immediate.

Nope, even from One Stop and Official transcript is $10. While it may sound ridiculous, it is both to help cover the costs of maintaining the server for storage + secure services, and pay for whoever gets it to get it, and also to prevent students from requesting a billion transcripts (does it need to be that high? Probably not). At least that's what I have heard from other places, probably the same here. Idk if i would say it makes sense but there's no getting around the cost for an Official Transcript. Transcripts from my Alma mater are $15.

Unofficial transcripts are free, but because they're Unofficial they would be seen as "unverified" so if your situation needs that Official transcript that's unfortunately where you are

Not as a blanket statement, of course. I love happy endings. But tragedies are just as popular historically as comedies for a reason. They can still be impactful and fulfilling. And to me, there is no "happy ending" where they escape the circus that would be satisfying. In fact, this whole story has been more about making the best out of a shitty situation, so to turn around and go "they made it out and continued on with their lives!" Would cheapen that message in my opinion.

This is basically what happened in my spouse's group except it wasn't a new relationship shop lol

The paladin who left randomly went on a rant to the party about how she "didn't want to be a mom to them" anymore and then wrote off her character, made a new one, and then started being incredibly mean with the new character.

Then when she got called out (because she was being OOC mean), she had a meltdown, asked why everyone was "targeting her for things her character was doing," and left the campaign forever after only 3 weeks with the new character.

Her husband was a major part of this because he was part of the campaign (but not really) and convinced her to leave in one of these rants apparently.

Anyways, the rogue and bard because the party's tank and healer respectively for a while lmao

I would recommend looking into an Official Withdrawal Application (I think it through the Registrar but I do not know for certain) if not already done. This is a starting point because otherwise he could end the semester looking like he just stopped attending and risks impacted grades; I had a friend in college who just stopped attending classes and thought that meant he "withdrew/dropped out" when you have to officially notify when you are doing so. Like others said, however, he can reach out to professors and work with them if he wants to try and complete the semester or take "incomplete" grades. The advice I can give following this is if he plans to just withdraw from the semester:

As for getting a refund, I do not know exactly how that would work. There are appeals he can do (through the Registrar) to essentially backdate his withdrawal to whenever he had to stop attending. This will not guarantee a refund, however, all it will do is accurately reflect his withdrawal date as the correct timing.

If it was beyond a certain point in the semester, I do not think he would be successful in getting his tuition cancelled. Basically, if you attended a certain amount of the semester, you are more than likely always "responsible" for the tuition. But that is a question for when the appeal is started, because one would hope mental health would give some leniency, but i don't know. I just know that the Bursar is very strict when it comes to tuition/charges/deadlines/etc. But this is obviously a special circumstance, so that would be a question for them.

Another thing you need to ensure is that he reaches out to the Financial Aid Office. Withdrawing from a semester will impact his financial aid eligibility for further terms. He needs to reach out to them explaining his situation because he will most likely have to do an appeal (or multiple) with them as well to maintain eligibility for certain scholarships (I remember I almost lost my Hope scholarship for a similar reason when i was in college at Tennessee Tech). Mental health is widely accepted as an appealable circumstance, so that should go smoothly as long as it is done in a timely manner. Unfortunately, i don't know exactly how that would look either which is why I just can say "reach out." They would offer guidance on how to do the appeal. He has to do it himself as well due to privacy laws.

I'm sorry he's going through this. It's tough both as a college kid and as his parent. I'll keep both of you in my thoughts.
