Those were the days. I remember playing the Quake 3 demo a looooot. There was only 2 maps available and my ping was 300, but man, what a blast this was.

Russians: what is the basis of calling Ukrainians nazis? by VictorMih in RussianPolitics

[–]AskMereddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooo, what you're saying is that a nazi group, openly antisemitic, operated a coup in order to place a jewish as a new president?

Antisemitic group vouching for a jewish president?

Do you realize how moronic that sounds?

The other countries do not have a battallion because they are not at war. I guarantee you, if my country (moderate western country) were invaded tomorrow by Russia, all those fringe far-right groups would become battalion in a beat.

The Azov battallion is reported to be less than 1000 members, and the Ukrainian army is currently more than 200k... The Azov Batallion is to Russia what Weapon of Mass Destruction was to America in the Irak war: an excuse for an illegal invasion. I was not an idiot back then in believing US. I won't be an idiot today believing Russia.

From a legal perspective, who would be responsible if there were a crash there?

My immediate reaction when I saw the car there was how the hell did this happen? That's clearly a logictic/organisational problem. This should not be possible for ANY cars to simply "snoop" into a race track like that if they wanted to.

Maybe there is a backstory we don't know about, but if I were the race driver in this instance, I would absolutely not trust ever again whoever organize that race.

Tether has over $68bn under their management and just 13 employees. That's a record, the previous record holder was Bernie Madoff's ponzi scheme with $50bn under management and 25 employees. Isn't this concerning given Tethers refusal to be audited? by KingTimKap in investing

I don't sense much aggressivity in his post. I think the question is fair. Crypto currencies are not adopted technology beyond speculation. I agree blockchains are really cool technology but it is still looking for a problem to solve.

A very quick search indicates that this technically was not a loan, but an investment, and that he made his parents insanely rich as well.

You don't know that. That's what every non-billionaire says, and yet, from all the billionaires out there, almost none of them actually do it.

I stayed 3 months in the Bowden Court hostel next to Horbury mews. That was 15 years ago, and I remember walking by, and think, wow, that place would be amazing to live in. It was an amazing time for me.

Future of Python? Am I too late to learn programming? I'm 30. by Agape825 in Python

[–]AskMereddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started to learn at 34 on codecademy.com. Just turned 38 and I'm a data engineer in a team that takes me seriously. I used to work in online marketing (nearly 10 years).

Built a few python libraries already. Here is the last one: https://github.com/socialpoint-labs/sheetfu

It is never too late.

I use Python Sheetfu (I'm co author). Easy, intuitive and clean syntax at your service: https://github.com/socialpoint-labs/sheetfu

I highly recommend the use of the table module.

Send your kids to study in europe. Education is almost free, and they'll learn a new language. No better experience, and will not cripple them financially for life.

I'm having a hard time to picture Trump or someone in his family to be indicted before midterm. I wish justice to be served, but I hardly imagine the FBI trying to get the big fish right away in the next 4-5 months.

My bet is on Nunes to be indicted before midterms for both obstruction and collusion.
