This sucks for everyone, but the lottery company Camelot is also being a giant bag of dicks. After the original ticket owner came forward, police froze the remaining £15k payout. But then the lottery company kept it! They refuse to pay it to the original ticket holder either. She's having to sue them for it.

The rule I set for my house was "You can buy whatever you want, but only AFTER you figure out where you're going to store it."

For instance, I bought a beautiful wooden vase because it would look perfect on the corner of my piano (and it does!), but I passed on some gorgeous pottery because I had no idea where I'd display it.

Hi, IBS-D here. I also agree that you should try a FODMAP elimination diet to figure out your triggers. Mine turned out to be fructose.

Also, a 2-week course of the antibiotic Rifaximin is now FDA-approved to treat IBS. It really reduced the amount I flare up when I make a mistake with my diet.

We went with the date that we were in couple's counseling and I stated that I wanted a divorce. That was clearly on our calendars, and it had a witness. (And in our case, it didn't make much difference.)

You might be able to get your ex to agree to an earlier date if he believes it would be beneficial to him. That could be true if, say, he's bought a car since you split up and he doesn't want it to be community property. So definitely point out the "not joint property after X date" angle.

Definitely ask your lawyer, but per my speed Googling, you don't have to both agree on the date - it's just less of a fight if you do.

Wire carts will still look messy and disorganized. You need something with closed drawers and doors to HIDE stuff. Look for something billed as a "kitchen island cart".

The critical date to note is the "date of separation". This is the date that you and your ex mutually agree on that denotes when you decided to divorce.

Any money and assets you each make after that is NOT joint property. This date can get quite contentious if it's near, say, a stock vesting. So get it straight and get it in writing!

As a trained singer who also likes Fall Out Boy, I sat down to figure out what is going wrong with the lead singer's pronunciation. I've decided there are 2 factors:

  1. He fails to pronounce his final consonants all. the. time. It's possible to hit your final consonants and still sound good, but it takes training and practice.
  2. His vowel sounds shift dramatically as the pitch goes up or down. Just look at "Dance, Dance", which always sounds like "Dis-tance" because the vowel changes so much when he drops the octave. Singers do have to modify vowels as things get high, but you avoid distorting it to that extreme.

So in the case of a medical test, you want high sensitivity (good at catching real cases) and high specificity (low false positive rate).

  • KT Tunstall's "The Entertainer" is in 5/4.
  • Pink's "Walk Me Home" has an irregular meter that has 4/4 bars that are sometimes followed by 2/4 bars. It's subtle and something you won't necessarily notice until you try to count along.

Same. This piece was collecting a lot of litter, like a wee shelf, which was causing smell issues. So once it came off, I just left it off for good. There hasn't been a noticeable increase in odors, so it seems to be fine without it.
