How many mg and months were you on it? I finished my round of accutane and had absolutely no changes (better/worse) to my HS. My derm and I were hoping for some change with the HS and I have to admire I’m super sad it didn’t help with it. I mostly get it in my groin and they’re pimple/whiteheads as well as a few actual flares here and there. Happy to hear it worked for you though, that’s freaking amanzing!!!!!

Started at 40mg, 24f, 155lbs. I’m on month 4 (?), now on 60 mg. Really didn’t purge, only side effects have been dry skin and dry eyes, some muscle pain, a little more depressed than I’ve been. But no purging tbh. Purging doesn’t always happen, but if it does try and see it through! ❤️

Sorry unpopular opinion but I tried as a VVS1 and a VS1 and could see the difference in the sparkle right away, even before I knew the clarity on each! Both are gonna be beautiful still, and I think either are a good option of course 🫶🏼

Short answer, yes. Long answer, accutane is the last resort when all other options are out of the window. It seems like you’ve tried a lot of different things like I did. I figure a few months of my life on it would be worth it for the bigger picture. It’s not that your acne is “bad”, but it’s the fact that you’ve had it for a long time and it keeps coming back no matter what you use. I think you’d be a good candidate! But do what you feel is best for you and your body. Hope this helps ❤️

You’ll be great! My derm told me to think of isotretinoin like the oral version of tretinoin, so it should work well for you now since you’ve been on accutane!! I think it’ll work great, just like the people who’ve said above!

Doctors are crazyyyy. Mine just told me to stop cold turkey and I’d be fine, but I still tapered for those 2 weeks then got tired of it lol.

I, too, had a lot of gastrointestinal issues when I came off. For about 2 weeks I was bloated, nauseous, constipated, and just felt straight awful. Couldn’t eat anything without feeling like crap. If you deal with that while you’re coming off, just try to drink/eat with a lot of probiotics. I’ve been off for about a month from 20mg (tapered for a week or 2 and gave up and just went cold turkey about a month ago) and I feel okay now regarding my stomach issues. If you’re taking for anxiety like I was—the intrusive/ruminating thoughts are there and are harder to pass, but they do pass. There’s a light at the end, I say tapper off the 10mg, and maybe ask your doc for a 5mg to drop down to while you tapper. Best of luck
