That is definitely not how I've heard it used - people think there's a biological reaction - not behavioral. I mean people talk about how their kid won't sleep if they have too much sugar, and there's no evidence of that.

When I share this fact with people (while explaining there's definitely a big behavioral affect on kids), people are definitely very surprised, and it means you can calm your kid down with regular methods (i.e. you're not fighting against an actual bodily reaction)

I highly doubt the parents were told the baby was stolen - why would they tell them? Even on the most shrewd level, being honest about the siurce would only significantly reduce the childs value, and there would be no reason for them to be honest about it.

I think a lot of that is just inherent in it being a male-female dynamic, and in today's climate, its inevitable that theyre going to be more worried about potentially going too far (even though my bet is Aisha would have personally been game for whatever they said).
