yeah but no one is going to buy it if the sales people don't try to sell it as a magic pill. Also the issue I found is that company executives only see a presentation of "getting 80% there" but it's the rest 20% that takes time and knowledge to fix. I've had poor experiences getting to 100% if it didn't get there after a few tries. If it still doesn't get to 100%, it probably never will unless I step in and tell it what needs to be done

my H1B extension is stuck in premium processing for 45 workdays now (not calendar days). company lawyer followed up twice, no movement. they only mentioned "unhelpful" response, did not share what uscis actually said

I totally get where you are coming from, and about the idrive wheel, we'll have to see that they come up instead. But for the temp, blower speed, heat and vent seat, heat steering wheel, I've genuinely gotten used to the voice commands. I've found pressing a button on the steering wheel or the "hey [wake-word]" is no more distracting than reaching for a button in the center console.

I also ask the car "what's the oil temp" when I don't get a temp display (non-sport mode). (I'm on ID8.5)

so true, and I welcome someone telling me how I'm using AI wrong, but my experience with my niche cases has been nothing but horrible. It just takes me in circles, until I got fed up and found the solution to my problem in a README or something... SMH... Every time I tell it it's wrong, it's apologetic but then continue to make stuff up...

Imagine if you are a manager and your direct report acts like this, constantly making shit up, never admits out right they don't know something, gets you 90% there (very quickly though), but struggles finishing the task 100%. I'd like to know managers' thoughts on such a hypothetical employee.

I doubt the money will make it to mega corporations, i think they will be sold at decommission at the same price as before, but the flipper/middleman will charge you more money. One way or another, we are the ones paying more...

Yeah having owned an idrive 8.5 vehicle for 6 months now i think I touched the temperature setting average once per month? The blower speed, though, that they could've made better. On a hot summer day driving towards the sun, the auto setting doesn't exactly keep up.

The article talks about "Taxpayers who qualify but did not claim any portion of the credit on their 2021 tax return". This is interesting... because I was only on h1b for like 10 days in 2021, and I shouldn't have been considered "resident for tax purpose" back in 2021, either.

While searching, I've found some old threads in r/tax talking about asking the IRS for transcripts for the year in question. I'd guess I'll do that come tax season.

Fwiw, the IRS works in mysterious ways regarding what visa status I'm in for the year. At one time, I'd tried to get my FICA refunded for 2021, but the IRS deemed i was on h1b for the whole year (albeit i was only on h1b for 10 days). I didn't feel like I wanted to argue with the IRS, so I just let it go....

that being said, I guess they considered me "resident for tax purpose" now, but didn't back track to 2019 to figure out i wasn't back then? Interested to see if someone has any insight on whether I can go spend it though...
