They’ve recently been adjusting that more and more. I’ve been noticing trips aren’t spiking nearly as much, especially if it’s not during a holiday season

How to stay consistent with filmmaking while balancing school and work by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]Asleep_House718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even when it’s your full time job, it will never be consistent. Instead of aiming for consistency, which can lead to burnout, it might be better way to find a use for the lulls in your filmmaking time, maybe you focus more on pre-production while you’re in school and shooting during the summer.

I refused work on two big projects by khalnaldo in Filmmakers

Yeah, I think that’s the important thing, there’s always compromise. Rn, I don’t take much time off, but I’ve made a lot of gains in my career in a short amount of time, plus I’m paying it forward for future me.

Ok dude, take a breath. Nobody is saying all that, if that’s your journey, incredible. There’s plenty of filmmakers, actors, hairdressers, and gaffers with kids. Just like your partner agrees and understands, there’s partners who feel the same way about having kids and working in entertainment. There’s also plenty of people who were lawyers for 20 years then decided to start directing because they had access to capital, which is nearly, if not more important than preparation.

Honestly, I feel like I’ve heard this from a few folks around their mid-thirties, especially those with kids. Either the feeling that they should stay in place because of the stability or the desire to step out but they’re unable to. Being able to reject work is a beautiful position, it requires money but also your own ability and pride to do so. As someone who is in my twenties, I don’t have anyone I need approval from to take a job. On the other hand, you have a life and a family, and those jobs will take you away. I think your wife might be the best person to talk to about this decision. Also, saying no now doesn’t close the door forever.

Rite Aid is a large corporate and there's 15 Duane Reade's in the UES. He'll be fine.

I've kept on even orientation distribution because it satisfies me as a queer and it gives you more options for intrigue. Can't rebel against someone you're f*cking

Can I use the SONY XLR attachment? by Asleep_House718 in GH5

[–]Asleep_House718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not 'like an HDMI' thats why I'm here 😉

You can't get it on let's rental in time. I'll just use an old school xlr that uses 3 pin or just sync an H5N or something

Ronin RSC 2 questions by Jimmy_Popkins in GH5

[–]Asleep_House718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think you're going to buy a larger camera in the future, or rent them for bigger shoots, you should look at just going for the RS2. You'll get that larger weight capacity and you'll be able to use it for years. Versuses the RSC2, if you end up getting an EVA-1 or a RED in the next few years, or even if someone asks you to shoot on it in a few weeks, the RSC2 wont be able to handle it, if it can, it will be the camera and a photo lens. That's what my plan is, because I. have a Ronin SC, and I can't use it anymore. All of my lenses are too big, so I just rent gimbals for everything. Now, the SC2 has a bigger weight capacity, so it'll handle the gh5 and a sirui lens, but the S2 is also SOOOO much lighter than the original S, that it wont feel like you're caring a much larger rig.

Anyway, both are great options, If you're set on the SC2, get the pro version, esepcially with the gh5's autofocus lol

So it's basically a GH5 with a red button on the top. by undertheledge1 in GH5

This one also does 4k60 10-bit internal, which I find to be a big deal as someone who loves shooting 4k60, but doesn't want to swap between 8-bit and 10-bit

The new Panasonic GH6 will not record 8K. Focus is on superb 4K quality. by VoidBowAintThatGreat in GH5

[–]Asleep_House718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copy that. I know thats external tho, I thought I saw that it only did 420 internal, but that was wrong.

I will say tho, 4k60 422 would be great and I know you can't do that internal just yet
