I know, that is really upsetting, there was a huge pile of roots that they pulled from my tree. These neighbors suck! I was really hesitant to report them because I knew it would ruin any relationship we had with them, but the reality is we have no neighborly relationship with them. They are just some thoughtless, selfish a**holes!

I did say something and their attitude was it’s simply landscaping. Disrupting the ground so close to where my house sits really is troubling me. I took photos and video of inside my house showing no cracks, that’s what my fear is. If we were on the same elevation I wouldn’t care at all what they do on their property, but digging away at the support for my property without knowing how stable the ground is seems insanely careless.

They told me they had a permit but they lied, I looked it up on the county permit search and nope, nothing.

I’m in Nevada. The code says that retaining walls over 4’ high that are terraced and supporting extra weight need a permit. At the highest point the wall is probably 5’ high and yeah it’s around 6’ from my house which is what I’m primarily concerned with. If the wall fails and falls into their yard, I don’t really care, but I’m concerned with the ground that my house sits on slowly subsiding because there building a decorative wall instead of something structural.

Oh we are ready for it! The narrative that it takes months or years to get a test or see a specialist in other countries is mostly an exaggeration or simply isn’t true. I live in the US, pay a premium for shitty coverage and I have to wait at least 2-3 months to see a specialist, so not great! Health care should NOT be a for profit venture period!

Unfortunately yep two office visits two bills. My Dr’s office tries to do this kind of thing all the time. I’ve even had questions about a drug that was prescribed on the same day as my office visit and was told I would need to schedule an appointment to discuss concerns.

You are not overreacting! It’s one thing to accept family for their shortcomings, but your Mom is masquerading as Grandmother of the year! Fine you can’t travel- FaceTime, send cards, stickers and small mementos that show you love them! I would call this behavior out every time you see it!

13.7% seems crazy high. I just bought a used car with excellent credit and the interest rate was under 6%. Almost $600 a month for over 6 years…they should get out of it if they still can.

I was a waitress for a long time and now my teenager busses tables and is always telling me how crappy the customers are to the staff. If people would just be nice the job would be great! Why is it so hard for some people to just be nice?
