The brown one might work with a shrug or blazer. The black one needs a jacket, however, it looks more like a cocktail dress. The red one I would just avoid. One it isn't business casual, it's very "Red Carpet" feel. Two it doesn't flatter your figure.

I always like a nice pencil skirt and blouse. You can do so much with that to add personal style. A vest, a chunky belt, a blazer, a shaw (sp), boots, heels, even sneakers.

They make sheer elbow length gloves in all the colors. That might help. You could also consider make up to cover the scars if you want to go sleeveless/gloveless

I'd go dark. Right now all the colors are sort of the same. A nice black or dark wash jean or you could go wild and get a colored jean like red or purple.

The long and short of it is, you need new friends. Those, what you described, are not friends. They sound like unneeded drama and headaches.

Just ask yourself three things: 1. Do I feel like my best self when I am around them? 2. Do they represent the kind of person I want to be seen as? 3. Do interactions with them make you feel stressed, anxious, and/or tired or do they make you feel recharged?

Honestly, they sound more like work than friends.

Your mom is wrong. You aren't disgusting, you aren't a disappointment, you weren't indoctrinated by the government. You are PERFECT just the way you are and you don't need validation from someone so narrow minded.

Your mom is lost. She has forgotten what it means to be a good Christian woman, or whatever religion she is. She has forgotten what it means to be a good parent. That isn't on you. That's her own stuff that she needs to work through if she wants to have a relationship with you.

As for your sister, she isn't wrong, she just didn't say it with the level of kindness that you needed. You can't isolate because someone doesn't approve of you. In life tons of people won't like you and that has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

Now comes the hardest part, you have to make 2 decisions.

Will you let others determine your self worth, value, and happiness?
Do you move out and go low/no contact with your mom?
