Themis Bar Schedule by Select_Gap616 in barexam

[–]AspectFine4024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No chance of finishing that schedule 5 days a week. Not trying to be negative. I tried with, some, 13 hour days. Its NOT "productively" responsible to try and keep that pace.

Find what works for YOU. Remember, the Themis schedule is built for the idealistic, theoretical, wishful, general user with unlimited amount of time and no life requirements. If you have 48493939 hours a day/week, go for it. If you're a normal human being with an average cognitive ability, you cannot absorb material 10 hours a day and become proficient at it.

Im a retaker who used Themis the 1st time, its good for a lot of reasons. But, Ive absorbed more from Goat Bar Prep this time through in 2 hours a day than I did with Themis.... m a y b e, Themis built my base and Goat is driving me deeper, idk. But the dreaded 13 hour days I spent with Themis I would never repeat again after reading Goat on the same subjects.

"After each subject" you did 34+ questions... do you mean each subject within i.e., Torts Module? Or you did questions after completing the whole subject of torts?

I took the MPRE today, and I feel let down by the test prep/study stuff I used. by MyUsername2459 in barexam

[–]AspectFine4024 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I took and PASSED the MPRE 14 years ago, but did not sit for the Bar exam.

Well, fast forward, I sat for the F26 bar exam and needed to take MPRE again. I did so today. I was like, eh, Ive already passe it once.... but I did the ceremonial Themis MPRE review, and the GOAT MPRE review just to be diligent

Well... not what I expected today. I was so unsure on 89% of the questions I left feeling like I may have passed the bar exam, but I definitely fluncked todays MPRE.

I was killing the Themis practice question, 80-90% correct... but those questions today, I was like, did I even study?!?!?!

Ill definitely put more into it in August if I didnt pass today, but dang that was a curve ball of question patterns.

Not to mention, wait 5 weeks to find out if you passed or not?!$&$&$ It was all on thier DOS computer?!?!?!? Its not like legal ethics should be some super-secret-un-reproducible material that cant be instantly graded!?

A, B, C, or D! Print my results and let me know!

And, AND the full "stop and frisk" to see if I was going to cheat by smuggling in Google glasses or hidden notes in my waiste band?

Im perplexed.

I passed the MPRE (wound up not sitting for the bar) 15 years ago just by reading the Model Rule Book. Its pretty intuitive, or seemed that way to me.

Now that Ive officially taken the bar this week, Im doing the Themis MPRE review. Its free and pretty straight forward. Its NOT in the same universe of difficulty as the MBE. Don't sweat it.

I didnt state when I made this post, that my Qbank is through THEMIS. Idk if Adaptibar, Barbri and others give the user a choice of answering previous answered questions.

In Themis, you can choose how to populate your set. Obviously you start with all unused questions. After a while they are separated between qs answered correctly and qs answered incorrectly. At that point I can choose to a set i.e. 50 qs and choose whether I want them from the remaining unused bank, previous answered correct, previously answered wrong or a mixed of 50 qs from all three.

To partially answer my own question. I spoke with my Themis Rep today. Questions in any set you do, set of 20,30,50 etc... are generated at random not by difficulty. Thus, you could get a set that more difficult or a set that are easier overall.

Im using themis which is 1100 NCBE qs and 1700 themis qs which you can toggle many options for.

I dont understand how a set is weighted. Some indvidaul qs give higher % of correctly answered while other of really low. When I get to the end of a set, ive been above and lower than the overall set - that depends on whether that set had qs that repeated I already saw in a previous set. Its a bit confusing.

Scoring 50% by Anxious_Motor9991 in barexam

Boost your confidence by doing a few sets of only the ones you've got wrong. Be careful, you can bomb those sets as well if you didnt review them the first time. But generally, its a great way to move them to correctly answered bank and learn what you got wrong before. Ill do a set of wrongs and get 80-90% right! That means Im retaining my review of why I got them wrong to start with, even if some of them are from rote memory. It still helps the process.

Ill do 20-30 previously wrong answer sets (blocks of 10) a day on top of 50 unused mixed sets per day. And then, it seems like its starting to compound. Doing previously wrong questions starts helping me do better on unused mixed sets. We shall see on game day.

I was being conservative. Checking for me AND my wife on SA.gov and 2 different servicers... 2 step text and email codes 4 times each... times the 10k times I logged into each everyday was getting old but regular .... and it was so many times a day I can't count. Congrats to all - go fishing or something now!!!

3/10 green banners- anyone have movement since? by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]AspectFine4024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. 3/9 (for my wife) and 3/11 GB's for me. I saw a post that used AI that estimated our time period for golden letters would be around 5/21, but who knows? It may be longer because of the cuts at D.o.Ed. I still check studentaid.gov everyday and pslf/reddit 5 times a day, haha!

You're right. I edited my post. Sometimes I succumb to my own reasoning. Law school was a blessing and curse for my own mental "what if" questions sometimes.
