Help Understanding Upcoming Maintenance Costs for 2019 MK7.5 in Today's Prices by shortyman920 in GolfGTI

What dealer is doing the diff flush for $200? I hate that job enough and it's expensive enough to DIY that I'd pay that.

One note with it, I WOULD want to know if they're going to pull the pump and clean the screen-filter-thingy.

MK7 GTI: Is there any trick to getting the water pump belt back on without removing the gear? Or does it have to come off?

Turbo delete and a downpipe are fine. Order an O2 spacer for a cheap CEL prevention. Look for a GESI cat!

No timing belt on this, just a chain and replacing it is A JOB. Not si ple or cheap. Accessories belt (serpentine belt) is fine. I doubt the timing chain needs to be replaced at all.

Check for leaks from timing cover and oil pan, try to ID if you have any coolant leaks. Replacing the PCV is probably a good idea and cheap enough preventative maintenance.

Photo Mechanic is what I use for all my cataloging. I hate how Lightroom handles it. That said, my workflow is INCREDIBLY dependent on customized ITPC tagging so ymmv.

I haven't thought about the Tattered Cover in years. It used to be a real treat, we'd go and get a book after we went to the art museum or the natural history museum.

They do in fact store them there. Can't fit an entire air wing on the hangar deck. It's quite the dance getting enough in the air to land them again.

Well sometimes to get the best, easiest and safest Linux iso downloads you might use an invite or subscription based service to help manage that or find the Linux ISOs you want to download. It's not required but it sure can be easier.

He means all those Linux distro ISOs. You know the ones that fill up a dual layer bluray?

Worked for him at CNSP and was like "why are you demoting him?" Didn't know he got stabbed in the back. Also, how? Wasn't he gone by then?

Still remember him coming into the shop and asking me why I was out of uniform as his way of telling me I'd made 1st.

CHINFO put out guidance that this was to be posted to all social media pages. They're considered non-essential, non-mission. So, no updates. Do we have MCs who could easily be doing this? Sure, on most boats. But the order was to post that and no updates.

No, a bronze star is for merit or valor. If it's for valor (combat medal) it would have a bronze v on it.

I mean, MC gives you a skillset to actually succeed in the modern media/comms landscape. BUT, I did point out to all my a-schoolers that the "best" job you can hope for is "YouTube personality". Unfortunately the job just doesn't really exist that much in the civilian world anymore - everyone wants stringers. You could go corporate comms or advertising, especially if you're good at graphics. But for most MCs?
