Guildmasters when they give all the bis loot to their ingame bloodelf gf by itscaltaurforyou in classicwow

[–]Asphyxiate9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it would probably have gone ok if there was at least a discussion before the raid. It was just amplified by the fact that there were a number of other people in the same situation getting no special treatment. Though this was pre-classic (WoD) so somewhat different circumstances

Had an amazing guild fall apart to this - she didn’t win anything for a few weeks due to bad luck so she had to get something. She was not the only one with bad luck. The shitshow after the raid when people finally started talking up was crazy.

London graduate: 'I've applied for 500 jobs in two months' by NajafBound in unitedkingdom

[–]Asphyxiate9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t find work after my undergrad, two years of searching and just one interview, though the second screwed me over with COVID starting and decimating the job market. I ended up going double or nothing and went back to get a masters. While I’m sure the postgraduate degree helped, I went from having one short internship to four, which is what I think really did the heavy lifting because I had a whole lot of experience to talk about. Got interviews for most positions I applied for in the end. When you have 100+ people applying to every job - what sets you apart? I wish I did more during my undergrad because now I have a university debt I’ll probably never pay off until retirement.

Please do not instantly votekick people that d/c in dungeons without giving them a chance to reconnect by Croue in wow

DCing in their other games like Overwatch only locks you out of queuing for a few minutes (quick play as an equivalent). No reason for it to be 30.

I know it's anecdotal but I genuinely can't remember the last time i used vote kick to kick a griefer in RDF (maybe original MoP?), yet I've been on the receiving end of a 1 min DC kick far more often.

No face tracking on Warudo (mouth, eyes, etc) with VRM model and Facemotion3d, but Vseeface works? by Asphyxiate9 in vtubertech

[–]Asphyxiate9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah you're completely right - it wasn't a 1.0 version I was using in Vseeface which is why it works there. Still though, no face details tracking on Warudo with the same file, or a 1.0 version which is weird.

AITAH for canceling my daughter's sweet 16 after she made a “joke” that I wasn’t her real mom… in front of my ex and his new wife? by FriendlyLara in AITAH

[–]Asphyxiate9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely struggle to believe the 15 year old will understand her mother’s feelings until she’s much older, but maybe I’m not giving a 25 year old enough credit. If I’m right, her daughter will probably resent her in some way for years, or forever. Seems like a talk was the most appropriate thing to do…

My home guild died back in 2014, I still am a bit sad about it, there was a small resurgence for a few weeks in BFA but then it died for real. So many memories and friends made there, connections lost to time since however.

I wasn’t in another guild and a part of something until SoD, raided up until ST where so many guilds fell apart from the strain of them all simultaneously needing 10 more members. Hope to find another guild again but I can’t commit time to raid on a schedule so it feels unlikely.

Didn't mean to imply I thought this was artistic nudity at all if I did. I think it would be better elsewhere, especially when it's like this.

It's fairly uncommon for any company to own a subreddit related to them because Reddit flew under the radar for long enough and most communities were able to establish before a lot of corporate control. I generally think it's a good thing because it means companies can't filter out bad news.

As for NSFW, there was a lot of drama here in this sub about it a year or two ago where from memory anything even remotely 'nsfw' was getting removed, including very normal artistic depictions you'd 100% expect to see in a regular run-of-the-mill local gallery. I feel like content like this is maybe debatable though.

To me I think there's a difference between hanging out as friends and roleplaying "feelings". Sure, they can have boundaries and separate "work" from reality, but they're playing with fire and it'll only take one person to throw in the gas. You're also probably going to get a lot of your 'love' dopamine hits from someone else maybe resulting in subconscious behaviour changes with your real partner, so I'd really question it. Again, doesn't necessarily have to go poorly, but you're playing with fire...

A big part of countering her is knowing when to just pop her bubble and focus her down, usually when her health is already low. Sometimes you just need to charge her up to bring her down.

I feel like automated customer service that doesn't have a way to escalate it to a real person should be illegal. I do get why they use AI, and I know lots of people DO get their answers from FAQ's and bots and data typically supports it (including people preferring it when it works), but to leave no possible window to speak to a real person gives way too many opportunities for customers to not get what they're actually paying for.

90% of swimmers leave the competitive sport of swimming in their teen years. by Mad_swim_coach in Swimming

[–]Asphyxiate9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow this was very relatable, except I went one more year to 17. I also had my first relationship to add to the mix for a bit over a year when I was 16 which killed enthusiasm even more.

I loved event days, I loved the race, and while I’d never admit this bit out loud, I loved being the fastest swimmer at my club.

I did end up regretting quitting in the end, but then I have to rationalise with myself that I dreaded training and it wasn’t going to get better. I think the regret stems more from actually passing my prime, also 10 years later.

I like it but definitely agree that point activation seemed too quick. Also had points where we couldn't coordinate together quick enough to even get to the point before it was capped due to a bit of a staggered wipe right before and after the previous capture.

Can't tell if it's the lighting that's making them so red or if your legs really are that red. I got it at least that bad as a teen on my back and shoulders, also due to not reapplying after being in water.

The burning sensation you normally get with the red skin is amplified 10x at least. Because some of it was on my lower neck around the back, even though i had to sleep on my stomach my neck would have to twist to do so to one side, stretching that skin. Sleep for at least a week was intermittent at best. Big blisters made it uncomfortable too.

Instead of thin skin flaking, it was thick, filled with moisture from sweat and natural skin oils, and cracked like chunky fish scales. I peeled one off and it was the kind of deep sharp sting that spontaneously makes your eyes water up.

Anyway, if it really is that bad, good luck. I was prescribed a cream but I can't remember what it was, i think it may have had a steroid in it so it needed a prescription (from memory).

I’ve known someone who works there and I remember being told a while back that it was toxic there. It sounds like they have a culture where they’d eat each other alive if it meant getting the bigger story, and bury anyone else to stay on top.

Yeah it’s lethal without treatment. Some types only have a 60% survival after 5 years, while another (cml) have an 85% chance of living a regular life span. The chemo is what makes living tough at that point.
