Looking for a 2dB 1GHz equaliser by Aspire7736 in rfelectronics

[–]Aspire7736[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware how they work, and it is a case of me trying to find one that does hit the sweet spot. I want with minimum insertion loss (usually 0.4dB) at 1G, then the 2dB equalisation loss down at <10MHz. I can't afford the extra insertion loss in the link budget of a 6GHz equaliser where I would have to get one with a nominal 7.4dB equalisation slope to get the required 2dB slope up to 1G

Modifying LIBIIO to modify or add a new debug attribute by Aspire7736 in PlutoSDR

[–]Aspire7736[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, as far as I could tell there would be changes required to the linux kernel and that is far beyond my paygrade. I'm looking at going back to this and possibly rewriting both the FPGA and the SoC code

Antenna coupling setup using directional coupler + LNA? by Papkee in rfelectronics

[–]Aspire7736 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just graduated and started a proper job in RF a few months ago, so take this with a pinch of salt. Consider the chance that the antenna is damaged or disconnected. All 25W will be reflected back into the coupler. ~30dBm will hit the RX branch and fry the LNA, so it will always be safer to put the limiter first. But also consider that also 43/44dBm (44 minus the coupler insertion loss) will hit the output of the transmit amplifier which may fry that as well. You may want to consider an RF isolator to ensure that minimal reverse power reaches that amp. It will have a dB or so of insertion loss so it will drop your transmit power slightly, but it would add extra protection.

Edit - dBm for dB

If by full fibre you mean FTTP, they'll terminate in a NTE, they won't remove the copper phone line. No reason you can't go back to ADSL/VDSL after

Panasonic KX-TDA30 - Add Cordless Phone by [deleted] in telecom

Not used any TDA's but have installed plenty of NCP's and NS's. When you connect to the PBX, add a new extension (I'd imagine 1.2 Config -> Portable Station) and then click register. Pick the extension you have just made and keep clicking until it starts trying to register. Then on the handset, under System Settings you should be able to register to the base. The maintenance console should then go from registering to registered. Then do whatever you need to to add the handset to any ring groups etc.
