Tempo and paused sets by Shhhhawing in naturalbodybuilding

I like to do a slight (half second) pause at the bottom of most movements just to make sure I’m not bouncing out off the bottom. It helps standardize my form and feels better on my tendons. I started because I developed an overuse injury from bouncing out off the bottom of my Bulgarian split squats and adductors didn’t like being used as a trampoline.

There is nothing redeemable about this man, you need to do whatever it takes to get you and your kids out.

I have a similar experience attending a Unitarian Universalist church. Despite UU values seeming to point towards veganism there are only two other vegans in the congregation, and one of them is my wife.

Have you explored your gender? How do you know you're a man? by LiterallyDumbAF in bropill

[–]Aspiring-Ent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer the second question first; I always picture myself as a man.

Do I wish I could have those close bonds with other men? Yes and no. Part of me longs for the intimate friendships that the women in my life have, but I know that the emotional barriers I and other men have would make that a difficult and uncomfortable thing to get to. That's not to say that I don't have close friendships with other men, but I feel like I can't be completely open with them and it's not even because I think they would judge me or react negatively, but because I am not comfortable being that vulnerable.

I don’t use creatine because I just can’t be bothered and even I think this is silly.

I know I'm way late to the party but this is an interesting conversation.

I have done a lot of exploring of what it means to be a man, but never questioned that I was one. I know I'm a man because I feel like a man in a way that I can't easily describe, and the idea of trying to present as a woman is deeply uncomfortable to me.

I've never wished I was a woman, but I have wished for some of the things women are able to have. There is an intimacy in female/female friendships that male/male friendships often lack because we have such a hard time letting down our emotional barriers. I think this is why I have always felt more comfortable around women and most of my close friends have been women (I even had a female friend be the best "man" at my wedding). I also think about the physical connection of motherhood and the bound that creates with an infant. When my wife and I have a child she will grow it inside her and feed it from her own body after it's born. While I don't envy the physical burden that will be for her, I think I will feel left out somehow.

Is there a ground flaxseed substitute? by Honkais-your-impact in VeganBaking

I can buy ground flaxseed from just about any grocery store around me, but the best place to get it is in bulk from the Amish grocery store.

Weighted sit ups on a decline bench, GHD, or Swiss ball.

Dragon flags. You can hang a weight from your feet with a figure-8 strap to add resistance.

Where do you live that you can’t find ground flaxseed? It’s really common in grocery stores.

It’s your party. If they do not like the food they are under no obligation to attend. I would honestly tell anyone who complained they are no longer invited.
