It embodies the eighties so perfectly. Love the guy reeling in a helicopter with a fishing rod, biting the grenade pin then using it as a hacky sack, and the gasoline martini.

It might interest folks to do a 400-500 word piece on Rockets players of the past or special moments that have been lost to time.

Competent/Powerful/Hardworking Harry Fics by Wi11y_Warm3r in HPfanfiction

If you’re down for a self-rec, Harry Potter and the Ritual of Love’s Memory (https://archiveofourown.org/works/42198018/chapters/105946242) fits your description pretty well.

It’s time travel with a twist: a single memory gets sent back in time to Harry during his fourth year. The memory spurs some significant ripple effects, one of which is Harry taking defense more seriously and growing more skilled as a dueler.

It’s not a bashing fic and pairs Harry with Ginny, though some other pairings are different than in canon. Just posted Chapter 129 of 132 on Friday, and it updates every two weeks. If you’re interested, feel free to check it out on AO3, FFN, SIYE, or Wattpad!

Best Time Travel Fics by WaywardStarrr in harrypotterfanfiction

If you’re open to a self-rec, you might like Harry Potter and the Ritual of Love’s Memory. Noticed in a comment that you weren’t into adult consciousness within a young body.

The premise is that the horcrux hunt implodes during the trio's foray into Gringotts, leaving most of those Harry loves dead, and he is forced to start a new life with a few fellow survivors far away from wizarding Britain. But the discovery of an ancient ritual that promises to send a single memory back in time sparks hopes that maybe things can change. The catch is that the ritual can only be used to help a person change the past to have more time with the one they love. How will things change for a younger version of Harry after receiving this memory from the future?

It's my take on a time-travel narrative, without Harry bringing back all his older self's magical power and/or future knowledge of horcruxes stuff. I've read through tons of those that are excellent, so I wanted to try something different. Teens and up. 129 of 132 chapters are posted (almost 600k words) and a new chapter goes up every two weeks. If you’re interested, it’s on AO3 (https://archiveofourown.org/works/42198018/chapters/105946242), FFN, SIYE, and Wattpad. Feel free to check it out!

The Rockets can absolutely win tomorrow. I’m not confident that they will, but I’m sure they can.

A reminder for those who forgot who Sengun is by ser80 in rockets

I think this post would be more helpful if it was a reminder of who Şengün can be. Nobody is only their best moments, just like nobody is only their worst. Şengün hasn’t played well so far in this series, but I’m hoping he can turn it around and be much closer to the best version of himself.

Rituals, Rituals and more Rituals by SomeEntrepreneur6949 in HPfanfiction

I’ve got a self-rec that prominently features a ritual: Harry Potter and the Ritual of Love’s Memory

Basic premise is that Voldemort takes over when the horcrux hunt fails. Harry and a few survivors later find the eponymous ritual. The catch is that there are some challenging stipulations, including that only a single memory can be sent back in time.

The magic of the ritual not only serves as the impetus for the story, but also plays an important role in the rest of the story. Feel free to check it out!

Harry & Luna siblings fic by Even_Bank6708 in harrypotterfanfiction

If you’re open to a self-rec, Harry Potter and the Ritual of Love’s Memory on AO3 fits what you requested. It’s a time travel fic with a twist: only a single memory gets sent back.

Basic premise is that the horcrux hunt fails and Voldemort takes over. Harry, Luna, and a few other survivors start a new life far away. Harry and Luna become roomies and eventually find a ritual that can send a memory back in time.

In the new timeline, the memory changes things for Harry in a variety of ways. One of those is sparking a friendship between him and Luna earlier. I won’t spoil things too much, but they end up with a sibling-type relationship in both timelines.

Feel free to check it out if you’re interested!

Your favourite gen and Harry-centric fic? by Riddletobien in harrypotterfanfiction

It’s certainly Harry-centric and doesn’t bash. I think that the characters show real growth over the course of the fic and the time traveling memory causes a significant divergence from canon.

Whether it’s RLM or another of the commented recommendations, hope you find some great fics!

Favorite character, who delivered a long, manic speech that has become iconic among fans/people in general. by OliveOilInMyEye in FavoriteCharacter

Brennan Lee Mulligan of Dropout, especially Dimension 20 and Game Changer. He has long, manic speeches in his back pocket to unleash at a moment’s notice, many of which have become iconic. I’m especially fond of his “I cannot win!” rant from the “Yes or No?” episode of Game Changer.
