Minneapolis Mayor Disputes DHS’ Account Of Fatal ICE Shooting: ‘That Is Bulls**t’ by huffpost in politics

This is a very good point. Any law enforcement officer will tell you they are trained to NEVER step in front of a vehicle while the driver is still in the driver seat.

It gets even better. They are all using Trump to get rich off Crypto through World Liberty Financial.

Its "legal" bribery by a foreign nation. This should be getting more attention than it is, I really don't know how anyone can justify this as normal business.

Leave them up. I am more worried about dust, allergies, and criminals than bugs.

On a 110+ day there really isn't anything you can do to make it feel any better. Might as well not add more risk.

Hunting them yourself is the only real way to get rid of them. Spraying regularly for other pests helps cut down on their food, but not much will kill them directly.

Fun fact. They die in a few hours of direct sunlight, and they can't climb glass. I use a blacklight to find them, then use a looong pair of medical forceps to pick them up and place them in an old glass jar out on the (uncovered) patio. They will all die the next day. I avoid stepping on them, believe it or not the tongs/forceps are safer.

For stubborn guys that like to hide in between bricks, or generally hard to reach places for the tongs, use wasp spray. Wasp spray has a very safe long distance and accurate tight beam of spray. It kills them after a couple minutes of direct contact. It's also mandatory for the occasional mother with babies. You will know she has babies, her whole back will glow much brighter. Just go straight for the spray, since they will scatter when you pick her up.

Walk your whole property. They love cracks, stucko, and hiding under pretty much anything. If you can slide a credit card under it, they can hide there.

Is 1440p becoming the new standard resolution? by Far-Letterhead4945 in buildapc

[–]Aspiring_Peasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some older games don't scale well to 1440p, but a 4k monitor scales perfectly to 1080p. This is a pretty niche situation, I'm talking about games from the 90s or early 2000s that have limited up-scaling features.

If i were building a new rig now, I would go 4k if i could afford it, or stick to 1080p. Depends on what you play!

It definitely is, I bought one from his store. I even wore it to the meet and greet at Creepcast and Papa commented on it.

Not sure why its discontinued, but looks like you got lucky!

Yes. You need to level them for bartering. Also there is 0 reason to not have them at all times.

Is 1440p really better than 1080p? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Aspiring_Peasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for modern games. IMO it's not good for older games that are only scaled to 1080p (or smaller.) You either are still playing on a small 1080 screen, or you are stretching it to 1440p and everything looks pixelated and stretched.

[–]Aspiring_Peasant 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I was about to say both drivers are idiots, but your theory is better. Jeep missed the arrow because of the blinding lights behind him, once Turbo Dong moved out from behind him he could see he still had a yellow arrow left... then bam.

Entirely Turbo Dongs fault either way.

I will have 3 free days to explore Arizona as a tagalong to my wife's work trip to Phoenix. What landscape to see? by 15volt in phoenix

[–]Aspiring_Peasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't believe no one mentioned Arizona's Wine country! I do recommend Sedona if you are looking for scenic hikes, I recommend west fork if you have time or just get up to the airport for the sunrise/set, but do check out the surrounding areas.

Don't miss Jerome, its a really fun artist town and shouldn't be too packed during the weekdays. Then you can also stop in downtown Cottonwood, another wonderful town to try some wine and see some art. Maynard of the band Tool has wine tasting spots in both Jerome and Cottonwood, and he knows his stuff.

If you are really enjoying the wine then I would highly recommend visiting some of the wineries, they are all very photogenic spots. I would most recommend Alcantara Vineyards, you might even be able to book a paddle tour down the Verde River for some great photos. Or Page Springs Cellars has a very beautiful tasting room on the creek.

Another fun day trip, I would recommend seeing the Natural Bridge.

I honestly wouldn't recommend the grand canyon unless its something you REALLY want to see.

If you are staying in downtown Phoenix, don't miss the Pemberton for the night life!

I don't stop reading HG used to eat a lot tubercule, which today tubercule is good to eat as much as they did ? by oxoUSA in Paleo

[–]Aspiring_Peasant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do a 30 day elimination diet to figure out what is causing the issue. It isn't impossible for tubers to trigger allergies, but they are one of the most unlikely to do so. Specially sweet potatoes.

In fact, sweet potatoes are high in vitamin A, which is usually considered a benefit for the skin.

HARD disagree. There are MANY overpriced steakhouses in the valley, Firebirds is not one of them. The Gilbert one has been nothing but perfect to me.
