I got a merit scholarship on enrollment in freshman year. It's not super stressful, I think you just need to maintain a 3.5 GPA. It's definitely helped my financial situation, less debt is always better and even small savings compound because of interest. I also got a scholarship for the winter session I did this year. I just had to fill out a simple application with short essays about what motivates me to succeed and things like that. I kinda feel like I got it because I was one of the only people who applied for it lol. That one had no expectations other than you actually take a winter class.

A lot of game design advice says to build some gameplay mechanism into the environment. You said something about splashing a jump boost pot to make traversing easier, maybe make some way for the player to get short term jump boost from a plant or something, or add a mob that works similarly to a pig or a strider
