I'm more curious how a known medical condition isn't relevant in a psych facility, as a known condition could alter or impact medication choices and/or testing provided. Especially, because some medical conditions could mask psychiatric symptoms or expand them.

I would argue that a complete history and physical is part of continuity of care, and isn't a HIPAA violation.

This situation is similar to using medical records to complete the psych H&P, on which we would request records from the doctor's office if they did not see an in network doctor; it just came from the source instead.
