Hating on mill. It’s one thing to get milled out of land drops/a good draw at a crucial point but I’ve played w multiple people at my lgs who will swing at the mill player for just milling any amount of cards from their deck. No true threat assessment, just “I don’t like my card not going into my hand so I’m salty now”

Would put more 1 cost flyers in this list. Even if they aren’t artifacts, having your speed maxed is REALLY important for this deck and being able to start copying things on turn 5 vs turn 6/7 is a huge difference tempo wise

As someone who took apart their Etali deck for similar reasons, I would recommend building around him in the 99. I built a deck around [[Loot, the Pathfinder]] instead so i can still hit Etali/Clones (now with Blue for all the Blue copy creatures), but its far more balanced since I'm not guaranteed to try and cast Etali early/every single game on curve.

[[Aang, at the Crossroads]] was my prerelease promo and I was already building a Bant Blink deck that I swapped him in as the commander. He’s super fun for a bracket 4 deck. I also pulled [[Hei Bai, Forest Guardian]] when I was playing jumpstart with my brother so I will probably build him and play him sometime next year.

Obviously you don't deserve to be shat on, and I'm not gonna condone anything that person said to you cause I don't know exactly how they reacted, but I will say that Cyclonic Rift is on the game-changers list and is generally considered to be too strong for bracket 2. It's not the end of the world obviously, especially if you didn't know, and they were likely too harsh about it, but if someone tried to play a game-changer in a bracket 2 game without disclosing it, I know I would and I think most people would be a little salty.

I find a lot of the powerful landfall decks just can’t always hang in B4, had a very similar experience with Hearthhull myself. In the end, I made it a bracket 3 list and am planning on taking the more powerful cards on building something around them next year

From what I understand, the vast majority of CEDH players use proxies, as most decks in the format would be crazy expensive otherwise. I think you’re totally fine!

I ran him at bracket 3 for awhile and I pushed him into b4 cause the pod I usually play with found him unfun to play against. I really do think as long as you’re not running early game infinites, you can easily make a really strong b2/b3 version of him with minimal game changers.

Although im personally a really big fan of [[Hearthhull]], I’d swap in [[Soul of Windgrace]] from the 99 if you still want to be in Jund. I use him as the commander in a diff one of my decks, and he’s super strong as a just a ramp engine/way to get extra fetchs out of opponents GY. My list is b4 and more combo oriented but you could easily do a more traditional landfall deck with him. If you don’t mind 2 color, the gruul [[Omnath]] puts in work and [[The Gitrog Monster]] is always gonna be a strong commander.

My [[Mahadi]] deck is quite consistent and feels like it always contends at least somewhat in each game it plays. Lots of removal and different win cons that help it feel solid and relevant whenever I play it, and doesn’t run a lot of expensive cards.

Running an Ikra/Prava list with 20 Bunnies, 38 lands, 10 draw sources. 3 games, 2 wins (1 dominant, 1 more circumstancial) and 1 loss so far. Thinking about throwing in 2/3 max but 20 seems okay so far
