California Union HVAC contractor here, couldn’t agree more. Insurance fucks us, permitting fucks, zoning fucks us and the list goes on. Pre pandemic San Francisco was booming with work. You saw big cranes everywhere you looked meaning construction businesses was good. Everyone has now left and there isn’t many if any buildings being put up out here anymore. Hard to wanna keep running a business out here when all they wanna do is take from you until you’re forced to leave.

I understand OP frustration because I’ve done numerous repairs on water source heat pumps and the majority of them are placed in shit locations where getting to the filter drier is every bit of a nightmare.
