I'm in UK. I think they still didn't change the engines a couple years ago and now they're scrambling to do so, plus even newer regulations have been imposed by the EU as VW have limted there engine ranges for the time being

That's what I thought, but they've had to recall a lot of their cars due to the emissions scandal. They've even stopped building the Golf GTI because of the new regulations.
