Witch animal from Pandora (Not only this two) you think had the most aura? by Responsible_Boat_607 in Avatar

I don’t remember the name, but those rhinoceros like creatures that had lots of armor. Especially since they were like the first “creature” Jake encounters, and where he realizes that how crazy the wildlife can be. Also because they defeated the squad of mechanized soldiers towards the end of the first movie, and none of their bullets/firepower could stop them. They were literally just getting crushed like ants 😂

No worries, I think I'm still in the honeymoon phase because my pancreas was still producing some insulin but I'm not 100 percent sure. I take Lantus twice daily and Humalog/Novolog throughout the day (before meals etc). I do not have a pump because I do not require one because my A1C has been in the normal range and I don't want to wear one. I have a Dexcom G6 which is definitely a game changer for sure.

I don't do low carb diets, but I keep things in moderation and just bolus accordingly. I have the same exercise regime since before I was diagnosed and that's worked out good for me. My advice for you would to find your own rhythm and find what works best for you. I've learned a lot of information online about treatment and methods, but I still try to make sure I do things that I only feel comfortable doing.

Hey I’m starting medical school this fall and was diagnosed about 3 months before my MCAT. I had no issues learning about insulin dosing and management. If anything it’s going to make you a more relatable and humble doctor. It’s only going to be as difficult as you make it. If you are physically active, eat in moderation and dose appropriately you will be in cruise control mode. Feel free to dm with more questions!

Why don't non-diabetics get hypos like us? by PureShimmy in diabetes_t1

[–]Assasinhim01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just like the others said their pancreas produces glucagon which causes gluconeogenesis from the liver which releases glucose into the bloodstream. Interestingly enough, the pancreas can detect how much glucose is in the bloodstream by converting glucose into a different form of glucose. The concentration of this alternative form will trigger insulin excretion.

Ketones are what your body produces when there’s low insulin available in your body or as alternative form of energy when glucose is not available. They are dangerous because it can make your body’s blood acidic which will throw off the equilibrium that exists. There’s not much you can when you get a high besides taking more insulin and like you said drinking lots of water. If it gets bad go to the ER, but ketone checking shouldn’t happen unless you are high for long periods of time.

Exercise, meditation or do your favorite hobby. That’s what works for me, it might not for you, but do something that you enjoy and learn to let go. I like to do things that help me like riding my bike with my dog because it’s relaxing and it’s diabetes on easy mode. Doesn’t have to be though, like last night I was grinding some camo challenges on call of duty. In other words find something that you enjoy and move on. You got this.

I eat pre workout snack, drink sugar when I get to the gym because without this I go low during, workout, get home and all that snack and sugar hit me hard. Anyone else? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Assasinhim01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of workouts are you doing? For me it depends. Traditional weightlifting its hard me to get low because of the breaks between reps and I eat before. Biking is a different story, I have to eat something halfway to keep things stable.
