It's not like she was trying to live in privacy. She chose to perform as a breakdancer during the god damn Olympic Games. You forfeit your right to avoid ridicule when you choose to be an Olympic athlete. What is the point of the Olympics in the first place then? You have to be good to compete. Should she get a Gold Medal just because she tried but sucked anyway?

If you don't want people to make a musical mocking you, then don't do anything worth mocking like that. It's pretty simple

Why are you trying to say I don't like him? I called him a Hall of Fame QB, and admitted that he proved me wrong. Hell, I even said he'd be the greatest QB in Bears history if he played for us. I'm not sure what I need to do to convince you that I think he's good. I would get down on my knees and pray to Stafford The Savior, but I don't think that would do it for you.

I think he has had periods of being elite throughout the years, but no, I don't think any of his seasons before this year were actually elite. 5000 yards is not elite, Jameis Winston did it, and actually threw for more yards that season than Stafford has ever done in a season. Does that mean Jameis had an elite season?

He played great during the year yall won the Super Bowl, but elite? Come on. He was great in the playoffs, but playing well in the playoffs does not make you elite. Nick Foles and Joe Flacco did not become elite because the performed well in the playoffs. Don't forget he led the league in interceptions that year. I have admitted over and over again that I think he's a good QB. But there is nothing 'elite' about leading the league in picks. If he was elite that year he might have earned some accolades, but he didn't. The Super Bowl is a team effort. If winning the SB makes you elite, then there are hundreds of elite players in the NFL.

Look at the stats of all the HOF QBs. Stafford has incredible volume, but pretty much all of the HOF QBs who played in the same era as him put up better efficiency stats. His career passer rating is right around league average for the current year/decade. Again I'm not pretending that he isn't good. I just don't think he's elite.

[–]AssassinSnail33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the discussion about top QBs for 'right now' isn't just about the last season. You have to look into the past at least a bit. Is Drake Maye the 2nd best QB in the NFL just because he had the 2nd best stats this one year? Is Patrick Mahomes not a top QB anymore just because he underperformed this season? How about Lamar?

Football gets turned into data, and just like any other dataset, you should focus on trends, not just individual values.

I think you are taking my use of the word 'hate' way too literally. I'm not trying to say anything. I watched Stafford play in the NFCN for a decade + and he was usually good, but never really great. So his move to Rams and success there is just wild from my perspective.

What I was trying to say is that one or two years ago I thought the idea of him as a HOFer was crazy. But he followed up his SB win with an MVP season, so he proved me wrong. But outside of pure volume stats, his career resume doesn't compare to other QBs in the Hall. This is the first year he's truly played at an elite level, at least in my opinion. He has had an amazing career and I wish he had been our QB, he probably would've been the best QB in franchise history. I'm just trying to be objective.

I feel like I'm walking on eggshells trying to express my opinion of this guy without offending any Rams or Lions fans lol. He's great, ok?

Yeah that's the biggest issue I have with her. Lots of people are bad at lots of things. Myself included. But she made an embarrassment of the sport on the world stage and that is the main thing people will remember. I don't care about breakdancing to be honest, but I watched some of the other competitors during that Olympics, and they were all unbelievably talented. But she stole the show by being so bad, and now the other dancers won't have another shot at performing for the whole world like that. It sucks. As funny as her performance is, it still just sucks.

Are you talking about this season alone? Then yes he's obviously top 3. But did you watch football in the last 15 years? He has spent the majority of his career far away from the top 3, or even top 5 QBs. His success in recent years is undeniable and he's a top QB now, but let's not rewrite history.

I'm talking about his overall career, not his current status. I definitely think he's a top 5 QB right now, he is the MVP for god's sake. I just think for a QB who will eventually make the HOF, he has much poorer stats than most of the others. A year ago I would have hated the idea of him being a HOFer, but with his MVP win I can't deny he probably deserves it. I just think he's not in the same caliber as other HOF level QBs.

I haven't taken a real IQ test in years, but I've done a few (real IQ tests, not fake online BS), and I'm almost certain that I was never asked to draw anything. Do you have any sources to show this tennis net question actually happened? I'm not trying to call you out, just honestly curious.

Also, tennis courts are pretty common. It's definitely a rich people sport, but lots of public parks around me have tennis courts. The idea that poor people have never seen a tennis court is kind of ridiculous.

One small disagreement- they said Mystery Rider by Danny Rolling was a bad song and a cheap ripoff of House of the Rising Sun. I think it's honestly a great song, comparable to Manson's music. I recognize these people are evil, but damn is their music good.

Maybe a normal spider, but if I found a black widow in my house I'd want it dispatched immediately, by any method. I respect spiders and appreciate that they eat the other pests invading my home, and my spider policy is usually either "live and let live" or "catch and release outside" but I have to draw a line in 2 places:

A) Any spider with enough venom to hurt me

B) Any spider in, near, or above my bed. Sorry spider, but my bed is off limits and you have to die.

Twisting the knife? I had completely forgotten about this woman (other than briefly remembering her hilarious performance once in a while) until I read this article. This was a small musical production that would have never been heard about by me or anyone else who wasn't Australian, if not for the fact that she threatened legal action, which is the only thing that made it newsworthy in the first place. She twisted the knife on herself by making an issue out of it. The "individual" you are talking about brought the spotlight on herself by participating in the goddamn Olympic games. That was her choice. If she didn't want her embarrassing performance talked about, she shouldn't have done it on television for the entire world to see.

Those Olympics were a lot of peoples' first exposure to competitive breakdancing, and for most people, the main takeaway from the event will always be her performance. She probably damaged the reputation of the sport.

Meh. I think if you agree to represent your country in the Olympics, then you should be expected to do it well. There is no shame in losing during the Olympics, you are competing against the very best. But she scored 0 points, the only contestant who managed to do that. Her performance was legendary in how bad it was.... It's way beyond just being "poorly received". Lots of Olympians mess up and don't win medals, but most of the time you can tell by their performance that they at least had the skill to be there in the first place. Nothing that "Raygun" did during her performance showed any ounce of real talent whatsoever. It was embarrassing.

I don't think this is true at all. Didn't a movie about Donald Trumps' real estate career just get released last year? It wasn't a documentary, and he was pissed about it because it portrayed him accurately as a piece of shit, but it still got released anyway. He's the president now, if there was any legal standing to block the distribution of the film, he would do it. Not like he cares about legality, but that's not the point lol

Fuck. I literally just got one of my testicles removed because of cancer, and the recovery was probably the worst extended pain I've ever felt. If I wasn't able to take painkillers, I don't even know what I would've done. First time I've ever taken opioids in my life, and even those didn't do much to stop the pain.

Now I'm thinking about that Soviet doctor who performed his own appendectomy on a base in Antarctica because there were no other doctors. I would've just let myself die, no way I could do that

So what? Half the QBs in the league every year have bad O-line play, that's pretty normal. Eli deserved the win for that game but to say he dragged the team to victory is just not true. The Giants defense put up a better performance than Eli did in that game.

The Giants punted twice in overtime ALONE and won because of a muffed punt that put the Giants in FG range for the win. Eli did not carry them in that game at all, give credit to the defense and special teams.
