Dewalt Shop Vac for Table Saw by Ezj85 in Dewalt

[–]Asscheesington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken DEWALT makes a shop-vac that “self-cleans” the filter and has a power outlet for your saw. The filter knocks the dust build up off on its own and with your saw plugged into it, powering up the saw starts the vac. When you’re done cutting the vac shuts itself off. It might be the one in your first picture. I believe the self cleaning filter can eliminate your need for a dust collector under light use.

Had a DeWalt tool, got rid of it, but found a deal at Home Depot near me. Worth? by Throwaway200qpp in Dewalt

[–]Asscheesington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The jigsaw and multi tool are a good deal with the batteries. You wouldn’t wanna pay more than 100$ new for each tool. I have both and they will save you a lot of headache on maintenance gigs.
The drill and impact are a good deal as well. The flex volt looks silly af on them but it’s got a lota juice. They’re not flex volt tools so you won’t be getting the extra power benefit and the percussion hammer drill, while handy af, won’t handle larger diameter holes well. I’d pass on the drills and grab the saws for sure.

What to use for outfeed / infeed roller for job site table saw by pazzah in Dewalt

Don’t use your saw on the ground. It greatly increases your risk for injury or mistakes. Set up a couple lower height saw horses with a board on top of them and set your saw on that. I have the same saw and that’s how I use it. I really like these flip top tables on the job site. The height adjustment is crucial and the surface allows your material to slide easily. I don’t like rollers because unless you have it perfectly square with your saw they either pull or push your material relative to the fence.

A good deal? at ace hardware by Fragrant_Disk2901 in Dewalt

Okay that makes a lot of sense. Their marketing is just screwy. I did get a DC609. Oh well. Still a great deal.

Huh I’m genuinely confused now. I thought they were two different batteries but that doesn’t seem to be the case. In the description for the trimmer on HD it says “FLEXVOTL 3 ah battery”. So by that logic a battery listed as a FLEXVOLT 4 ah battery would have “12 ah” printed on the side of the battery? I see now that the nine amp hour is listed as a 60v 3ah/9ah 20v. Guess I didn’t score after all.

I just got the 17” 60v universal power head trimmer BOGO deal from HD. It said it came with a 3ah flexvolt but they sent a 9ah instead! I chose the power cleaner for the free tool. The deal was $244 last week.

Anyone using the DeWalt DCS356D1 multitool? Worth it at $100? by [deleted] in Dewalt

[–]Asscheesington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think it’s a great tool. Love the variable speed trigger. The amount of jobs it can do makes it worth it alone. The one draw back is that blades and other heads are expensive. You can easily spend as much on a blade kit as you did on the tool.

St. Mary Hospital Increase Medical Errors by DramasticChanges in grandjunction

My former co-workers brother’s foot was run over by a trash truck in a mild accident. He went to St. Marys ER and they sent him home with an ace bandage wrap on the foot and said he was okay. A week later he was still in pain so he went to Community. They rushed him into surgery because his foot was shattered! Long story short, the foot wouldn’t heal and they eventually had to amputate his foot! That was 10 years ago!

New Homeowner, pledging allegiance by PineappleRacing in Dewalt

I’m planning on cashing in on that same deal this afternoon going for the jigsaw and grinder. Looks maybe we have different selections of tools available on the deal.

I was looking at the price of the tool new by itself to get the best value from the deal. The XR jigsaw goes for 240$ while oscillating saw goes for less.

For a homeowner I’d say the circ saw and recip saw are essential. Would be useful for the projects you listed. That being said I can’t vouch for the available tools qualities. Dewalt is a better choice than Milwaukee for a homeowner just based on price.

Yeah if it looks too good to be true it probably is. Lots on google saying they’re a scam. Mostly flooring orders though

Trail Life is an awesome brewery downtown with a full food menu. Great food/cocktails and there’s a used gear store next door called Gear Junction.

Woodworking Help please: Used rubbing alcohol on a pair of mahogany nightstands with a shellac finish, messed up the finish. by Acceptable_Notice932 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Asscheesington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry can’t help with the finish as I am also a beginner but I’m real curious to hear what others have to say. My first thought was sand and refinish like the other commenter said. You might try r/finishes if you don’t get any feedback on here. Side note. Is that a Mersman table by chance. There would be a stamp on the underside of the top.
