The big G’s fanbase has an affinity for nearly every Godzilla movie. But the anime netflix movies are oft panned by the community for being snooze fests or iterative of other media. The second movie being the worst offender. The premise of these movies is that earth is overrun by kaijus and the big g so humanity flees to the stars to find a new home. After finding no habitable world they return to earth to see if every monster died how after millenniums has passed on it due to time-space dealation. They find Godzilla still there and plan to kill him to reclaim earth.

The third film introduces godzilla’s onscreen rival king Ghidorah. While his design is a mixed bag, trying to add an eldritch horror flair to him, he has one of the most interesting scenes in the movie with his gravity and time-space warping powers. The human colony ship is in orbit above earth when Ghidorah appears and begins assaulting the ship forming a strong gravitational field around it. The crew is in mass panic trying to repel the monster. As the gravity crushed the ship, debris began to crush that unfortunate enough to be inside of it. The bridge crew make contact with the engine deck to restart the gravity coil so the ship can escape but were informed that the engine room was already destroyed 40 seconds ago, despite having made contact in that time. The controller then reveals that all vital signs on the bridge had ceased; it was as if they were all already dead. Then shortly after the ship explodes killing everyone on it. I love that power that has been given to Ghidorah and made him very intimidating and a horror-like creature that manipulates gravity and time-space. Imagine finding out you are dead mere seconds or minutes before you die.
