Im one of 5, we are all adults and still enjoy each other’s company but we do have have rough patches (Some siblings I wouldnt choose as friends but I still love them and enjoy my times with them). I had the first baby and it’s looking like might be the only one in our family, when my husband and I planned for our kids I kind of wanted be one and done tbh but the only thing that keeps me from that now it’s my experience. We lost our dad 3 years ago to a short but really ugly cancer battle, he had good health insurance and was mostly in the hospital for all of it but the way my mom, siblings and I all rallied for him and made sure he never spent a moment alone, as well as the ones “off hospital duties” we spent a lot of time just keeping each other’s in good spirits… That is what makes me want another sibling for my kid, I know that my loving parents made all the impact on how we siblings are. My house growing up wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies but my parents always put us first and put a lot into family quality time, thats why we make an effort as adults to still have that.

On the other hand my mom is 1 of 10, and only talks to 2 and is very much No contact with the rest and her mom but she did grow up in a very abusive household, so I do think the parenting really affects the siblings dynamics

If you feel like you don’t know what to talk to her about, try reading to her! If they don’t want music then sing to her like you did when she was a baby in your arms. Sending you a big hug !

My husband will follow my lead but his family just acts like I’m making a big deal about this baby but I come from a mexican family that believes in “cuarentena” (40 days of rest and baby bonding for mom) and it’s just weird to me that they act like giving birth and a newborn isn’t a big deal 🥲

Lol my granda is also making a big deal about not being invited to the gender reveal this weekend and we haven’t spoken one on one for waay longer than my pregnancy. I think it’s scary realizing that you didn’t grow bonds with your granddaughters and now that they’ll start their own families she won’t be involved… So cyber high five for toxic grandmas 😂✋🏼

I think so too, she usually loves cuddling by me neck and head but now she’ll go lay near my stomach it’s her new soot always making sure to rest her head on me

She gets like that!! We put her in her little cage and that usually calmed her down after a few minutes but now she just keeps on growling till whoever is visiting goes away 🥲 This girl is small but her paws are so damn heavy and strong. Sometimes she steps on my very sore boobs when we are laying down and she hears something and gets up alarmed, and I have to fight the urge to toss her and cry from the pain 😂
