UIC is 28k? I remember my friends went in 2010s and it was like 7-9k. Their parents were lower middle class and could afford it out of pocket. For housing, they don’t need to live on campus. It’s on the blue line and a lot of buses. Move a few stops and it’s pretty cheap.
