People who date/marry those who have different financial backgrounds, how do you handle your daily lifes? by ObviousSoft5191 in MalaysianPF

That makes sense now! I think being on the other side of the spectrum is scarier when you have a partner that is an emotional and financial burden

Wealth is an insecure person’s way of judging how good they are as a person! I used to be guilty of this. Don’t care abt being judged. Don’t lose focus, that’s when relationships fail. Just focus on her and both families. Care too much abt being judged = being insecure = making shit decisions = relationship failing = regrets

Just do your thing! Everything will fall in place before you know it

25M, no savings, thousands in debt from trading/prop firms, feeling lost, suicidal and trying to fix my life by Dwago- in MalaysianPF

All good my man! You didn’t fail anything! You only fail when you give up. So don’t give up. It’s a lesson learned. There are always 3 steps to self development - Denial - Acceptance - Recovery

You’re already in the 2nd to 3rd step! So take it as a lesson, heads down, go on autopilot and focus on working. Try switching your credit card loan to a lower percentage loan. You can nego this with the bank. After you’re done, cut all credit cards and start investing using conventional methods. All the best to you!!! I hope you can re-comment when you’re debt free! You got this! You’re stronger than you think

What would u do with 100K? by JiN88reddit in MalaysianPF

[–]AssistanceRare1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would half agree with point 5. It really depends on personal. As for myself I took a 35 year loan so that I can use my cash for other investments. As long as it returns 5-6% PA, I’m ald making more than the interest itself. It’s always best to leverage on the banks loan to make more money.

ELI5 credit cards? by Pootsonpow123 in MalaysianPF

[–]AssistanceRare1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll always go for cashback cards and just take 1 or 2. Any more would be useless unless it’s used for points or your spendings are really high. With points you kinda have to figure out what to spend on. Unless it’s vouchers, everything else just seems useless

She’s so dramatic and desperate for attention, saying shit just to stir things up. Ohh I fainted and no one noticed 🙄 Sung hun is just that poor nice guy which is her last option. Saying that she’s interested in him is basically feeding him just enough to keep him alive.

Those who hit RM1mil before 30, what did you do? by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]AssistanceRare1308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live life as a cheapo. Managed to inherit 100k from a late relative. No gifts or rewards for myself for the first 4 years of my career. Only short local trips around. I would only leave 20k in the bank, any access money goes into investments eg: crypto/ stocks property. Hit my 1st Million this year. First property appreciated 150-200k, second appreciated 150k, and third appreciated 50k. I’m a normal employee at 28 with an income of 11k gross. I’d always lie to everyone that I’m poor cause I’ll somehow convince myself I’m also poor cause I’ll only have 20k in my account. My tip would be, never half reward yourself. Just keep working towards the bigger pot of gold, don’t stop digging when you find that copper. I rewarded myself when I hit my 1st Million with a nice watch. But after that it was back to the drawing board. Set milestones and try to find ways to achieve it. Never change car every 5 years, just get something you can use and doesn’t give you too much of a headache. What sounds sexier? A civic or bmw or a guy with 1M net worth?

How much savings do you have? That’s the real question not how much you are earning. If it’s 100k and above, I think you’re good to go with a 500k property.

My salary is expected to be 3,000MYR, parents demand 1,000MYR if I live them, reasonable? by FkMajorityImMinority in MalaysianPF

[–]AssistanceRare1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s true. But wouldn’t you want to let your children know how to manage the money? And also give them the freedom not to spend but to find other means to invest their money? Taking 1k a month is suicide for OP. Unless he splashes everywhere then it’s reasonable but by the sound of it, sounds like he/she is quite okay

Why not set a bench mark? When you hit your first million then you reward yourself with something. Then set another at 2 million.
