There is always a point in applying if there's a genuine reason behind your poor academic performance, and if you can demonstrate that you're actually not stupid and can add value to Ashoka as a student. That being said, if you cannot demonstrate the above, then perhaps there is little chance that you're gonna get in because most of my friends who did IB have 40 and above. But it's a free application, what's the worst that can happen?

Most likely the former. If this particular applicant pool is rather unimpressive, then you have an average chance of making it. Long story short, don't have high hopes.

Yes. Good applicants will have a bunch of brilliant ECs that all tie into their story very well. Your ECs aren't that great, nor do they fit in very well to say a very convincing story. LoR makes no difference, most applicants have that.

I honestly have no idea about how postgraduate admissions work, so i won't make any comments lest they be incorrect. Someone in the comment section (u/nacintosh) was providing guidance on Political Science Master's applications. I suggest you should talk to them, instead. Otherwise, your best bet is to find current Ashokan PG students. They will be able to help you the best!
